I did not read those comments -- but what are they expecting ? India to get into a Terror Ridden Den with AK 47s firing all across and play the game of cricket, not knowing whether the guy driving your bus is a terrorist, the guy who is supposed to guard you is one? You know -- going back to the SLankan Incident -- I read that news from my bed at 4:00 AM or 5:00 AM on my mobile and 1st thing I was glad that no SLankan was killed and 2nd thing I did was raised my hands to heaven and said -- "Thank God -- India will not have to go there" and all this circus and people's expectations about Terrorism and Cricket being independent of each other-- will be put to an end.

:haha: Last time I checked cricket happened in Bangalore and the party took place and when was an international cricketer set foot in your land? When you were in your diapers! Though I do agree with you -- Bangalore Police do need to get their act together and clean it up by getting rid of your friends -- who seem to have become irritants in an otherwise cool city.

You guys are real jokers. What happens in Paksitan is 1000000000 times worse than what happens anywhere in India. People can't even live safely there let alone play cricket :hysterical:

Just give billion dollars to Mahela and ask him to play in Pakistan and let us see how that goes. Australia has been shunning Pakistan for over a decade. Why do you think so? Because it is a safe place? Wake up and smell the coffee.

vvs No amount of convincing will convince them. They always compare themselves to other nations, other acts of terror -- completely ignoring the bottom line If you think this is very very very scary for a very simple reason-- If you cannot identify and define a problem -- how are you going to find a solution to that problem? If the citizens of that nation do not think terrorism is a problem in that nation -- they will never find a solution to it. Which is why I will go back to my earlier statements -- the situation in that country is hopeless not just for today or tomorrow -- but a long time to come.

When did I compare Pakistan to any other country, it was your fellow countryman VVS who brought Somalia into this. Do you think we're retarded, obviously after everything thats happened over the past two years we know terrorism is present in Pakistan, all I said was that I just got back from Pakistan and the situation is far from "hopeless" as you put it. The sad thing I find about most Indians is how they try to convince themselves that Pakistan has gone to the dogs, ain't a good mentality.

You can't look at your personal experience all the time. I live in an area which has a pretty poor reputation. Lots of murders and lots of drug dealers, all in all a place where you wouldn't want to bring up your children. Now I've walked the streets here at all times of the night on a very regular basis on my own and not once have I encountered any problems, but I do know its not a safe place

That was in response to your country man comparing Bangalore situation to Pakistan situation. And on your second point. It has gone the hands of terrorists. Yesterday suicide bomb killed 7 people. Day before twin suicide bomb killed 41 people. It is a routine thing for you guys. The kind of terrorists that reside in your country is the worst kind in the world. International terrorists wanted by rest of the world. You want us to believe Pakistan is as safe as India like some Pakistan fans like to believe?

See -- this is another problem. What makes you think that ONLY INDIANS think Pakistan has gone to the dogs ? You seem to be bitter about the fact that INDIANS think Pakistan has gone to the dogs ? Forget -- what Indians think -- why don't you sit down in a corner and think -- "Are we in a good position?" -- "Do we have any hope in this nation (at least given the current situation)" ? And honestly answer these questions. I used to frequent msn chats in 2003 and 2004 when Bush forged a relation ship with Pakistan and decided to fight the war on terror. And I used to ask them quite frequently about how Pakistan could help US and US could go about putting its trust on Pakistan -- 80% of the times the answer was "The relationship is nothing but A Marriage of convenience" -- And at least one woman answered -- "With friends like Pakistan we don't need no enemies". Such was their trust and feeling about Pakistan. Things have only gotten worse since then. I will go back again to what I have said -- till the common paki on the street -- understands and recognizes that Terrorism is a problem -- they will never find a solution -- which if you really think about it -- is quite scary!

No now see this is where you are wrong, I'm not in denial or anything, I'm a sensible guy I'll actually read the whole situation but what you're saying is a big exaggeration. Things are not good in the country but its no where near being "in the hand of terrorists". It may not be as safe as some Pakistanis like to think but it sure as hell isn't as dangerous as you make it out to seem.

It may not be as safe as some Pakistanis like to think but it sure as hell isn't as dangerous as you make it out to seem.[/quote'] Lets take it on a month by month basis, starting with the current month of April.
April 2010 - Till the 18th April April 5 At least 43 people were killed and more than 50 others were wounded after a suicide bomber attacked a political party rally in the Lower Dir district of north-western Pakistan. The bomber had reportedly detonated his explosives near to the stage of this outdoor rally, as hundreds of people were attending the event. The Lower Dir district was the scene of a major offensive against the Taliban by the Pakistani Army only last year. In the city of Peshawar in north-western Pakistan, unknown militants attacked the U.S consulate. It has been reported that at least 7 people were killed in this attack, the number of injuries however has not been specified as of yet. The dead included 4 militants and 3 security personnel. It has also been reported that several explosions occurred in the area and that some buildings collapsed as a result of these blasts. Shortly after these explosions a gun battle followed between the militants and the police forces at the scene of these attacks. Officials have claimed that the attack was well organised but say order has now been restored to the area. The Pakistani Taliban later claimed responsibility for this attack and admitted that the U.S consulate was the target for this attack.[378][379] April 7 One person was killed after a bomb attached to a tanker carrying fuel to NATO forces in Afghanistan detonated in the Khyber tribal region of Pakistan. The victim was reportedly riding in the van from behind and it is known that 4 other people were also wounded in this attack. In a separate incident with the capital city of Islamabad, an explosion occurred within the parking lot of a market place. The explosion caused minor damage in the area however no casualties were reported due to the effects of this blast.[380] April 8 Militants attacked and bombed three girl's schools, which were located on the outskirts of the Pakistani city, Peshawar. Nobody was killed or injured in these bombings however damage was inflicted upon the schools. The Pakistani Taliban have been blamed for these recent attacks and the education minister has accused them of trying to spread panic across the country. The militants had reportedly planted the explosive materials near to the schools before detonating them later on.[381] April 13 A bomb exploded in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad. The bomb was reportedly planted inside a dustbin and it is believed to have been only a low intensity explosion. No casualties have been reported as of yet and security personnel have apparently cordoned off the area where this particular explosion had occurred.[382] April 16 At least 10 people were killed and another 35 others were injured after a suicide bomb attack took place at a hospital, in the Pakistani city of Quetta. Reports are claiming that a TV cameraman, as well as 2 police officers were among the dead for this particular attack. It is believed that the suicide bomber had walked into the hospital and had detonated his explosives at the entrance to the emergency room inside the hospital. Soon after this bombing it has been reported that gunfire was heard from surrounding rooftops and side-streets located nearby to this bombing. The authorities believe that the Taliban, as well as some Al-Qaeda leaders have set-up a de-facto headquarters in this city, known as the Quetta Shura.[383] April 17 At least 41 people were killed and more than 60 others were injured after two suicide bombers attacked the Kacha Pukha camp, near to the Pakistani city of Kohat. The first suicide bomber had reportedly detonated his explosives after walking into a gathering of people, as they were receiving relief aid from the authorities. The second suicide bomber then struck, in the middle of a gathering crowd only a few minutes after the first blast. It is also known that both of these bombers were wearing burqas, as they were carrying out each of their suicide attacks on this refugee camp.[384] April 18 A suicide bomber detonated his explosive-laden vehicle near to a police station in the north-western Pakistani city of Kohat. In this attack, it is known that 7 people were killed and that another 21 others were reportedly injured. It is known that the bomber had detonated up to 200kg of explosives on the back side of the police station, which he was targeting. This latest attack, along with others in the past few days, appears to be a reaction towards the military operations that are being conducted by the Pakistani army, in the tribal areas of the country.[385]
7 deadly attacks in April already ...and the month is only half over. So what do you mean by " bad " if this is " not as bad as people think " .

I said Indians because you seem to be most vocal and are hopping up and down about Pakistan's situation. Are we in a good position? No. Do we have any hope in this nation? Ofcourse, no doubt. Theres more than hope, there is actually action being taken place to put us in the right direction. I agree with your last statement and many people have actually accepted that. There was a bomb blast on a rally which was organised by Jamat Islamiya which is also an extreme religious group. This shows that the perpetrators don't care who they kill and through that ideology they will continue to lose support everywhere.
