vvvslaxman Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 What is with Viru being out of form. This guy is beyond those things. He is world no.1 test batsman. No11th ODI batsman. Couple of failures in IPL don't mean he will fail in world cup too. Ideally i would have preferred Rohit to be out.
Zap_Brannigan Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I would have preferred Utappa too but who would have opened then? KKD?
sandeep Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Veeru not being there is a MASSIVE loss to team India. ****. I was looking forward to watching a veeru special live against Aussie in barbados.
vvvslaxman Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I would have preferred Utappa too but who would have opened then? KKD? Whoever opens has to start going after the bowling right away as Gauti is not the one who would do that. We have to spread these fierce stroke players across the line up.

vvvslaxman Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Who are they? In full form Yuvraj, Raina, Dhoni, Yusuf, Bhajji are our big hitters. Vijay, Gauti, Rohit, KKD are not actually big hitters. They can play a blinder once in a while. But they are not big hitters.

We have to spread these fierce stroke players across the line up. Vijay has been good with that esp with Hayden out of form..But i feel that his stroke play is limited to midwicket. He can't blast one thro' the offside like sehwag

But how long that transformation will last? whether that transformation will last when he plays for India? Those are the questions that we are yet to find out. I am 50/50 with my expectation from Vijay.
S.Bond Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Viru is puting in too much effort for Delhi. Bad enws for india, their best batsman is out. Vijay is in good form but still he is no Sehwag.

Sid Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 just hope m.vijay doesnt make fool of himself by being poor against short bowling against quality quicks like rohit and raina were made to look like fools and his front foot technique doesnt give any confidence
vvvslaxman Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Not in T20' date=' he is not[/quote'] In T20 you don't have to be. You just have to produce couple of impact innings something Viru is quiet capable of. He is 100 times better than any of the lottery players some of the teams carry especially team like Pakistan. Last T20 international we won was because of Viru.
UmarAkmal Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Sehwag absence is not a big deal since he is not a good 20/20 player any way. He is very inconsistent like Imran Nazir. Indians should be more concerned about Yuvraj lack of form.

asterix Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 UV was having some trouble in his wrist injury..Is he fully fit? All the players who are not fully fit, should take time off the ICC event. No need to just go patying in Caribbean at BCCI's expense...
cowboysfan Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 i vehemently disagree with murali vijay being named as replacement.we are well on the way to ruining a bright prospect by selecting a player based on IPL performances(which should be a an absolute no-no).uthappa would have been a logical choice but ofcourse its the jerkoff cheeka and his chennai brigade at work.i predict a miserable world cup for murali and he will be dropped from the team if we ever make it to the knockout stage.
cowboysfan Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Why would he be on the front foot against short bowling ? ..He has looked quite good in tests against good pacers lol,are we watching the same murali vijay?is there another murali vijay who has played for india against the saffers?.
