king2be98 Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Just thought I'd open this topic up again, given some of the accomplishments we've seen recently, particularly from the Indian batsmen. What is your SINGLE most happy moment in cricket and also the SINGLE most sad moment. 1. Happy moment for me would be the Karachi Test where Asif announced himself vs a top quality batting line-up and we recovered from 39-6. 2. Sad moment for me would be Bob Woolmer's death. Such a tragic loss, I feel that the pressure of the defeat to Ireland may have had a huge impact on him mentally. It must have been the only thing he was thinking of before he passed away. It does sadden me to think that any man will pass away not in the happiest frames of mind, especially a gentle and good man like him. Guys please just pick one moment ONLY in each case, I am fascinated to see what different people love about the game. I also want to see if Tendulkar's 200 goes to the top of anyone's list.
achilles Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Joyous - 2003 Natwest Final. What a win. What a response from Dada to Fred. Also, Sree pwning the Aussies in the WT20 Semis and us winning the final, apart from Viru's 309. Sad - 2003 World Cup Final. Also, Vinod Kambli crying after India was knocked out of the 1996 World Cup.
Lord Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Happiest moment-wen we won in Kolkata 2001. Saddest-wen we got knocked out of wc2007

Sad moment: 96 WC semifinals - when Jayasurya and Aravinda ripped our batting to shreds... just when Tendu was gong along nicely and target seemed like a piece of cake...

vvvslaxman Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Bangladesh match was not a sad match coz we still had a chance to make it to next round. Unfortunately we screwed up against Srilanka too. Chennai test in 1999 was a sad moment as we had the match in the pocket.
