zubinpepsi Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 He has this one shot.. hoisting over midwicket..and its very predictable... with fernando varying the pace nicely and MI putting tiwary in that place got him nicely.... I think good teams will get him out easily me thinks..
vvvslaxman Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 No.. it is not easy to get him out if he decides to stay put. When it comes to big shots his preference is straight down the ground and midwicket area. He even played Tait over extra cover for a six b y playing inside out. He is capable. But he loves that arc more than other areas. He probably lacks those one day fancy shots. But he is a clean striker. That particular ball was hit well. But he didn't place it that well.
UmarAkmal Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Ross Taylor has only one similar shot too but he is successful.
gaurav92 Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 He will do well, he has a good technique, probably was a bit lazy today, but will see him coming good tomorrow hopefully
vvvslaxman Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 He is more reliable. Good thing is he has the ability to step up when needed. R Jadeja can also be reliable. But he can't step up. First of all keep in mind this pitch is not suitable for stroke play. Ball was stopping a bit.
yoda Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 he was playing crap you must have been watching a different game.
saneindian Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Forget all that, the fact that he is a good player of spin bowling will help us immensly in this tournament. In Gambhir, Vijay, Raina, Dhoni and Yusuf, we have 5 very good players of spin bowling in this batting line up and that IMO could work in our favour.
Guest Shivani Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 you must have been watching a different game. true MV :icflove:
hari504504 Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 you must have been watching a different game. * the wrong online stream :haha:
ViruRulez Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 you must have been watching a different game. exactly
The Dark Horse Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 even Raina plays that one shot particularly well, shouldnt be a problem as long as he plays the short ball well
sandeep Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Most important thing about vijay is that he's seeing the ball really well right now - saale madrasi ko ball ekdum sahi dikh raha hai - here's hoping his form continues for the next couple of weeks...
