This was the 1st harry potter book i read and it is my fav book of the series esp for 75% of the book that doesn't concentrate on the teenage love plots. Maybe i felt let down because i was expecting the epic finale which never came. But my GF, who has never read the books or remember the previous movie plots, slept near the end. So maybe its just a bad movie. Prisoner of Azkaban is still the best movie of the series and likely to stay the same with David yates directing the last 2. Azkaban > Sorcerers stone >>> Order of phoenix >>>>>>> Chamber of secret > Half blood prince >>> Goblet of fire Much different from the books which got better with each part. Azkaban was one of the worst books of the series while half blood prince and goblet of fire were the best.

So maybe its just a bad movie. My thoughts exactly. The movie was totally devoid of any meaningful content and is one of the most drab English movies I have seen in recent times. The trailer makes it seem as though the movie is packed to the rafters with events, but the actual movie turned out to be EXACTLY opposite. There were no elements of action, suspense or drama. To make matters worse, it will full of the silly teenage crush/infatuation thingy which was getting really annoying after the point. The expectation was, in the first half, Harry would learn about the 7 different thingies where Voldemort would have preserved the different parts of his soul and in 2nd half, go about destroying them. A friend of mine who had read the book told that was not a reasonable expectation to have since the book didn’t any of that and director had to stay true to the book. That may be true, but that alone does not compensate for the fact that it was a bad movie. In truth, the whole movie felt like a build-up to another movie, which contained the real action. I don’t want to sit in a theater for 150 mins, watching something that is building up to another movie. That’s doubly disappointing.

What should I do now?:nervous: Well, one of my friends who had read the book told me he liked the movie because it gave life and motion to the words and sentences in the book. So he could relate with it better. If you’re a Harry Potter fan yourself (unlike me) and had also read the book, maybe you will like it. But, I can promise you that, in terms of worthwhile content, the film is quite disappointing.

This is the 6th book of a 7 book series, so this basically builds up to the climax in book 7. But it goes into the background of voldermort and the trio's effort to find half blood prince and his intentions. This was my fav book of the series not because its words are poetic beauty or something (infact i think JKR's writing is pretty ordinary) but the story was good. The movie didnt stay true to the book when 2 of the 3 main plots in the book are ignored and the grand epic finale battle is turned into a 1 minute cry-a-thon.

I can understand that the book is huge and one cannot cover anything but one can surely spend less time on the bits with the silly teenage crush moments. This one is the worst of the 6 movies. If you are a HP fan, I am sure you will watch it but you'll come back very disappointed.

None of it was captured in the movie. Most of it was spent on teenage jealousy plots. :wall: All because varun wanted to save on the parking ticket :mad:
