I didn't find SPR good, too superficial preachy stuff from Speilberg. My best war movies: 1. Full Metal Jacket (Kubrick) 2. Schindler's list 3. Bridge over River Kwai 4. Platoon 5. Cold Mountain (civil war related) 6. Enemy at the gates (Jude Law) Alistair McLean's movies made in the 60s and 70s were good masala war movies.

Thats a very underrated, and superb movie. Great thriller and suspense. :two_thumbs_up: War movies often tend to get too preachy or judgemental. I did not particularly enjoy Platoon..and one movie which I think is grossly overrated is Apocalyse Now *ing Brando. I wished I could take back my 2 hours and video rental fee. xxx

Not a fan of war movies but I liked the one with Jude law and Ed Harris(both are snipers) and the 1st 30 minutes of Saving Private Ryan. Also an old movie… I think it’s the sequel of Guns of Navarone. It was the one with Harrison Ford. Think it was called Force 10 from Navarone. Can any one name this movie? For a long time I thought it was the great escape but its not. It was set in a POW camp (Probably WWII). It had people planning and escaping. In the last scene, everyone just breaks the barrier and run into the forest near the camp while the soldiers shoot at them. Then they show the image of some of the escapes one by one and tell us what happened to them after they escape. Saw it 15 years back on DD. Never seen it again but that was the 1st movie I liked in that genre.

Have heard some rave reviews about those' date=' though have heard some mixed ones about latter.[/quote'] the latter one no smoking is one ****ed up movie and i mean in that ina good sense....if you have seen and are a fan of charlie kauffman movies like being johnmalkovich, human nature, adaptation, eternal sunshine of a spotless mind you are gonna like this one otherwise forget it the second half is really ****ed up ... brave attempt none the less i liked it understood most part of the movie but most of the desi audience didnt understand head or tail of it hence bombed big time.. I was in the theatre and there were only 9-10 people in the theatre but worth a watch ....
