kabira Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 IIRC it won best action award in filmfare..LOL...they tried to make serous movie, and it became comedy. Rmemeber watching it on our typical friday night with booz and biryani..
Dark Warrior Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Mariyam... haha, some good sense of humor there!! :P :nice:
Zelig Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Saw it today, brilliant movie, loved every bit of it. Also check out his other two movies: Pi and The Wrestler. Both are great movies, but not in the same league as The Requiem of Dream. :icflove:
flamy Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Saw it today, brilliant movie, loved every bit of it. Also check out his other two movies: Pi and The Wrestler. Ya, I'm saving them for a rainy day. You should really watch The Fountain.
EnterTheVoid Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Requiem, I've been meaning to watch for a long time. Really love the sound track. Will check out the Fountain soon. While you're at it, check out 'The Reader', though dont watch it with parents/young siblings.
Zelig Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 I've seen The Reader..I watched it for other reasons :winky:

And, my sis and parents watched the black swan in theatre. it is no biggie.

EnterTheVoid Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 I have not watched the whole movie. And, my sis and parents watched the black swan in theatre. it is no biggie. lol i don't really bother to check the classifications. same with the reader, just saw it. seriously, its a kick ass movie, same with black swan. its a movie i'd wonly watch once, tho. theres no real replay value, just cant be bothered sitting through it again.
EnterTheVoid Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 btw, if you can handle it, check out 'a serbian movie' tdogg suggested it in the hood -- thats is one ****ed up movie but surprisingly, its a very well made movie.
Mariyam Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 flamy ' date='c omments on `memento` ?[/quote'] Momento is another example of blatant plagiarsim by Hollywood. They are lucky we don't have stringent Intellectual Property laws here. Or else.... The movie is based completely on the item number "Shiela ki Jawani". The main protagonist, like Shiela, keeps asking "whats my name? , whats my name?" Shameless copycats.
Mariyam Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Saw this play called 'Sons of Babur' . Its authored by Salman Khurshid, and surprisingly he's a good writer. The script is really nice. The acting not so much. Interesting play nevertheless on inter community relationships and communal perceptions. I abhor this kind of stuff generally, but this play is worth it. NCPA is staging extra shows because of the response the play has gotten. Those of you in Mumbai can catch it on Monday or Tuesday evening also.
