Murali Vijay against genuine quicks (outside the subcontinent)

So maybe they could've pick Robin. We all know he can open. He did so with elan in our World T20 victory in South Africa :two_thumbs_up:
Not many disagree with that. Having said that Vijay's selection was not a terrible selection as he is not out and out a slogger which helps him on a difficult surface to see off few overs before attacking. But even if Uthappa is in i would rather use him at the death . That is where he is very dangerous.

You sound as if your from South and I don't mind your take. But if it doesn't embarrass me to say that Team India was Team Mumbai for more than a decade, it really surprises me what makes you see beyond the obvious bias. And to show you the mirror... You make the point of 4 equal votes. So weren't they "equal" even when Mumbai players were getting preferred over their South compatriots? Coz if we go by your logic, there was absolutely nothing wrong with what the Selectors did when they continued to ignore the talented Southies and right now, Kris is doing nothing wrong by ignoring the Northies and saying "No questions about the players we selected", isn't it? So in conjunction with your conclusion, was it wrong for the South zone to be upset that Bumbaiyaa players were getting picked despite their boys being better players? Two wrongs don't make a right. As for the stats, there is JUST ONE No.1 and this year, it was Manish Pandey.... end of discussion.
I never cribbed about southie players not being picked earlier ? I think bombay rightfully dominates selection cause they have dominated ranji for so long. 39 victories and the next closest is what 9 ? . The only point in history where selection was unfairly skewed was probably when gundappa put in a karnataka team otherwise i think most mumbai players will probably be the first to get a shot at the national side (rightfully so) cause their ranji side dominates and if they click in the national side they make that place their own. My logic wasn't that they were right then Kris is right now. 1. My logic is is that Kris maybe biased but there are checks and balances you choose to ignore before amaking accusations 2. Jumping into the regional bias argument sometimes can be as easy as the match fixing one. don't like the selection (regional bias) The only southie guy i feel sad for is badri caues he has a tremoundous first class record but he was probably hard done by the fact that for many years indian middle order never required his services in tests with the likes of dravid, vvs, ganguly so it wasn't like he was given a raw deal

@everyone the difference between looking being at ease and being uncomfortable would be the difference between how rohit sharma (still to come out at the time of writing this post) and vijay are playing pace yes this is t20 and players should take risk. but we are talking about the comfort levels of a batsman to play against high quality pace... ---------------------- i hope rohit really plays well against pace today.

Well yes, Badrinath is such a class act. But he hasn't done much when he's got his chances. Rayudu is maybe one Ranji away from coming back into the Indian Test team atleast.

Vijay looks like a minnow basher/ sub-cont bully/ftb/htb

entire team failed. drop them all and replace them with some Mumabi Indians cause they never choke :hehe:
How about we get some Kochi players! Maybe they can promise some "sweat equity" for all our opponents from this game on and win the WT20 Cup :hysterical:

Guys he did face Nannes in India. On a fast pitch he played too early. How do you say he is not against pace. Unless you see him hopping around against pace you can say he is not good against pace. From whatever i have seen he looks balanced and organized with his feet movement. T20. He is not an ideal T20 player yet. But he is definitely not bad against quicks.
