Bublu Bhuyan Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 They played a crunch match against India in 2007. They didn't even have to win. They just had to lose by a certain margin. Yet they failed to do that. :hysterical::hysterical:
straight.drive Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 The main problem is that England has taken away all the South African big hitters..For example now SA will drop many old hags like Kallis, Boucher, Gibbs from the ODI/T20 team and get some big hitters in place..England will promptly wait for the right moment and poach them.. For South African fans, it's better to support the other South African team, England.. You cannot really blame the players who opted for England. South African cricket, like our educational institutions and gvt jobs, has affirmative actiobn(Reservation). Any sort of such stupid policy would drive the best talent away to other avenues. SA team can be a lot stronger than the current set of chokers. Affirmative action is one of the reasons for their failure.

Karan114 Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 That second innings would have been especially painful to watch for Saffer fans - everyone knew what was coming, tournament progression on the line and the Pak spinners on a slowing pitch... Having said that, the one difference this time is that the Saffer limited overs side has been at its poorest in quite some time. They beat Australia home and away in early 2009, which was damn impressive, but since then there has been little to cheer about. Gibbs is finished, Smith gets injured frequently, Kallis in T20 is a joke, Duminy is overrated...and the bowling lacks reliability too.
Zelig Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 What ever happened to Ryan McLaren, Morne van Wyk and CJ de Villers! In a way, CSA should take the blame for not blooding them when they were young and allowing to be poached by the English.
