What would be your T20 squad - if you were a selector

Even before the squad was announced i felt India should have gone with a complete rookie side with a bit of experienced youngsters. What would be your squad after this T20 performance by India. This way you can eliminate burn outs and also gives an opportunity for rookies to get their feet wet at the international level. Gauti used to have very good strike rate in T20. It just fell away as he started succeeding more and more in Tests. I would not mind that though. But it is a fact our potential in T20 has gone significantly. It always depended on Yuvraj to play a blinder. With him going down on form its potential is limited.

Gony is a bowler.he doesnt even make CSK team regularly:giggle:.Why not have Sree as the bowler then

Yup.The transition that Gauti used to make for all 3 formats were incredible, but now he bats with almost the same rate in ODIs and T20s.He has just learned the art of ducking the short balls which isn't an effective plan in T20s

Nope. He bowls upfront and at the death. Sure he can have odd bad overs. But on big occasions like T20 cup final he stepped up. HE is definitely not worse than any of the current seamers we have who bowl length balls and continue to get whacked around. Imagine Irfan coming in place of Zak with bat against Australia. India would have batted 2 extra overs. His batting is immensely valuable in this format as he can attack both spin and pace.

I'd make that switch now that I think about it... I thought Sree was more of a senior and we wanted some fringe players who've played on and off. Personally I think Gony hasn't had enough chances..unlikes some 'talunts'

Gony's problem is much like VRV singh's problems. Gun barrell straight without any variations where batsman hits through the line and length. He doesn't have any variation that upsets the rythm of batsman. I can't forget how that Bangaldesh guy Kapali whacked him like a club bowler in the one dayer he played.

Tamim whacked all of our bowlers including 'spearhead' ZK. Just cause someone got whacked in one match doesn't make him 'barrel straight',... Noon'es born with variations in their backpocket..they develop em over time
