Just saw this in NBC line up in the fall. Outsourced is a new sitcom from the makers of Office and Malcolm in the middle. It is a sort of spin off from the movie, also named Outsourced. The imdb plot is "A manager is sent to India to oversee a staff of customer service representatives". So this is basically the 1st major US TV show based in India.

live a little cowboysfan... if i had a dollar for every time someone said "you dont sound indian", i could bail out greece... what matters is that we are gradually arriving at the global scene. indians are regular fixtures on canadian and british television, and its about time we made it through to american television. at the moment our only representation is anil kapoor and the geeky physicist on the big bang theory.

It's the 1st time an american sitcom is going to be based in India and not just have a token brown character.

I think this show was produced by BBC and shot in Mumbai. It wasnt funny ... they showed it in melbourne last year
Is that the one with Sanjeev Bhaskar, Mumbai Calling? If so, you're right it sucked

It was shown on ITV or Channel4 can't remember which one. Was pathetic to say the least. They had a pilot episode followed by another 5 or 6 episodes I think and then it got canned.

Outsourced aired last week.. I found it to be a bit funny at times. I like the desi connection..Dunno though some may find it a bit racist, stereotypical,etc. I liked it :P Not sure how the mainstream American audience will find it though. lol @ Mr. Gupta and for some reason, there's always a Raj in there somewhere..haha..like even in Big Bang Theory I happened to watch the British one as well...Mumbai Calling by Sanjeev Bhaskar. From the looks of it, this one seems to be a bit better.
