Laxman vs. Inzamam

The best test for any batsman's skills and mental fortitude is playing the toughest opponent of his time in the most difficult conditions. For any subcontinent batsman, that test is playing against Australia in Australia (at least in the last two decades). It does not get any tougher than that. Any subcontinent batsman who has not done at least reasonably well there, should not figure very high in the list of greats. In his decade long career, Inzamam failed again and again against Australia. Laxman on the other hand, was Australia's worst nightmare. There is no comparison between the two. Where Inzamam failed under pressure, Laxman got better and better in the most adverse conditions.

:hysterical::hysterical: Ganguly is better than Dravid and Pakistan produces hard, bouncy tracks! You, sir, are great! :adore:
WTH are you talking about? Did you read my posts or what? Where did I say Ganguly is better than dravid? I said Ganguly is a better player in ODIs compared to dravid... And I thought pak had bouncy tracks compared to india, and that too I said I'm not 100% sure... Seriously, what is ur problem mate?

Sure, then why don't we remove, UAE, Kenya from Dravid's list? :--D So still it's 72% vs 60% anyways  Ohh yeah.. Being an opener might have given him some advantage, alright.. Still you didn't tell me how is dravid>ganguly in the ODIs? You were ROFL in the last page, innit? :finger:

I rate Lachu ahead of Inzi any day. He had scored more than 2000 runs against one of the best teams of all time. He is a flawed genius. Inzamam is a limited batsman who looked good because others are terrible in the side much like Salman butt looks good in current Pakistan team because others are terrible. They wouldn't walk into any world XI.

Others are terible? I don't think Awnar, Younis, yousuf are terible.... And sorry but Laxman will never appear in any world XI too...

Inzamam looked a great batsman because batsmen playing around him in that Pak team were not half gud as Inzi. Where as Laxman played along Side Dravid, Tendulkar and This days Sehwag. Against better attacks Laxan would score more in test matches, but as an ODI player Inzi was way ahead of him.

Funny thing is that I didn't even create this thread. It was a part of another thread, and the mods separated it from the original one since they thought maybe this topic was derailing the original thread.

This has become a very intellectual discussion.

Paks proclaim Inzi's triple against Bangladesh as the greatest innings then shamelessly call others score against Bdsh as minnow bashers(hypocrisy at its best). Can play underpressure, won't bother about records blah blah...Thats why he broke his bat in frustration that he couldn't break Miandad's runs.Never cares about record. Well to the topic Inzi was a very good batsman, but Anwar was better in 90s against better attack in their line up.Inzi did well in the last decade against lesser attacks. But I would take Laxman anyday for an abroad assignment.
