Brahmin's need not be priests. Fathers side and mothers side are both brahmin and almost all the males are engineers and the females teachers. Family is moderately religious, so as a brahmin eating meat, paap, ahimsa etc etc I just try to avoid it.

interesting story: there used to be a little brahmin girl in our apartments (long ago wen i was a kid). so she used to go to their neighbors flat all the time. These guys were college students and they had a cook. So they fed her cashew nuts one day. afterwards, when her mom tried to feed her cashew nuts... she asked her mom why was it that the cashew nuts at the neighbors home were soft and juicy while theirs are hard... turns out the cashew nuts they fed are prawns...

A real one is supposed to follow some rules like being a vegetarian , praying few times a day and wearing a janaiu to name a few .. else its being brahmin for namesake ... ie what 99.99% of brahmins are these days PS: Its funny how one is supposed to be religious cuz his parents are supposed to be as well that too cuz of their surname

no chicken or meat but I eat eggs.. cuz all these cakes here got eggs in them.. btw best one liner I heard for vegeterians.. "I am not vegeterian because I love animals.. I am vegeterian because I hate plants."

kangaroo is one of the healtiest meats out there. Very low fat content. It taste a little different to lamb/goat but still good. Crocodile tastes with some herbs and then BBQ'd is really nice. You cook it like prawns. Once the meat is no longer translucent its done. mmmmmmmm. now i feel like eating it. BUt not found everywhere.

My father, is around 66 and prefers veg food but his breakfast consist of raw egg with milk and milk at night and he is doing that since almost 40 years. He is actually more fit than me, can stand without sitting for more than 10 hours, doesn't wear glasses and has all his hair. He is a great fan of Dev Anand, who again is a pure veg, same like amitabh who is a pure veg I saw interviews of both amitabh and dev and there was a striking similarity, they said veg touches the soul and they both prefer simple dal and bhaaji. It's the same with my dad, he loves to get the good but will still eat that simple daal and bhaaji
