ZodiaC Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Nehra has been bowling well' date=' dont know on what bases you are calling him whatever you are calling him. Lets not talk about zaheers performance in t20 wc; before that he was bowling fine even in IPL malinga was bowling as well a zaheer and not vice versa[/quote'] Nehra is bowling well? Yeah a couple of wickets at the end of every match after conceding over 7 or 8 rpo :hysterical: He didn't bowl a single wicket taking delivery against Bangbros yesterday. Zak is the best we have but still nothing to write home about.
asterix Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Bhajji can do a favour to India by taking an oath to not bowl leg side darts and give "fiver" wides every alternate over. That's be a huge favour to the team and nation. Anything else, including wickets will be bonus for Indian team..
Fontaine Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Bhajji is a must for ODIs. It's his test form that needs to be more consistent.
Thommo Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Bhajji rides on his own confidence..You almost know whats coming the moment he bowls the first 6 deliveries..I dont think Dhoni wud think of dropping him unless there is an injury worry...Its unfair to compare regular spinners with partime ones simply because part-timers are usually short-changed the moment they get the stick, while regular bowlers mostly have to endure the onslaught and complete their quota even if its not going their way Stock or strike bowling? the team and bhajji has to decide what his roles goona be especially against Pak
King Tendulkar Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Ponting has 2 double hundreds against India in tests n averages 57 in ODIs he avergaes 82 against us with 5 tons certainly not that bad Well Dhoni avergaes only 29 against SA, with no tons. So next time we play SA he also must not play against them if we follow your logic through. I can also give more through your wonderful use of stats to give silly examples of following your logic through! Also Dhoni has a pathetic average of 29 against Bermuda. So lets hope we dont play Bermuda again as otherwise we will need a new skipper!
Karan114 Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 in ODIs he avergaes 82 against us with 5 tons WTF? He averages 40 against us in ODIs, not 82.
King Tendulkar Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Ponting has 2 double hundreds against India in tests n averages 57 in ODIs he avergaes 82 against us with 5 tons certainly not that bad So you think aussies should drop ponting when they play India in tests in India? As his record is poor in India. Following your logic ponting should be axed for test series in India
saneindian Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Rather than dropping Bhajji, I would expect the team management to point Bhajji to these stats and ask him to improve his record. His average is on the higher side because he hasn't picked too many wickets against them. His economy rate has been pretty good barring the last match in CT 2009. It's the wickets which are missing. Showing that maybe Pakistan try to play him out. Hopefully Bhajji too won't be satisfied with a 10 overs 0/45 spell and would have a spell of 3-4 wickets even if it means going for 55/60 runs.
Lord Posted June 18, 2010 Author Posted June 18, 2010 Well Dhoni avergaes only 29 against SA, with no tons. So next time we play SA he also must not play against them if we follow your logic through. So lets hope we dont play Bermuda again as otherwise we will need a new skipper! well Dhoni is a keeper n the best one we've got.so he gets some leeway even if hhe isnt the skipper n 30 isnt that bad an average for finisher anyway. WTF? He averages 40 against us in ODIs' date=' not 82.[/quote'] my bad.was looking at his S/R:--Dstill 40 isnt bad average So you think aussies should drop ponting when they play India in tests in India? As his record is poor in India. Following your logic ponting should be axed for test series in India u cant be that specific while dealing with top players.but wen u havent performed against a side in all matches in all venues, its a cause for concern.Bhajji's best against Pak is 2/65.clearly hes not the same playing against them.
King Tendulkar Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 u cant be that specific while dealing with top players.but wen u havent performed against a side in all matches in all venues, its a cause for concern.Bhajji's best against Pak is 2/65.clearly hes not the same playing against them. Well Sehwag avergages 22 against aussies in odis So if you are being consistent you will start a thread saying sehwag should not play against aussies in odis! Or are you targeting a soft target in bhaji who seems to be many posters favourite punching bag. To be honest this thread is a disgrace! All the great service bhaji has given for India and still is(lets not forget he is ranked in top 10 in both odis and tests,) yet gets slandered at every given opportunity!
gaurav92 Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 No Bhajji is our main spinner and he heads our spin attack, he may dart some quicker ones but still i won't drop him.
asterix Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 I don't think fans are asking him to be dropped. He is a senior bowler. It dissappoints the fans when they see a senior player gives loads of extras (I don't think there in any off spinner currently playing international cricket gives "fiver" Wides at such an alarming and regular rate, except Bhajji). Also care to look at his fielding in the outfield. In mean WTF? Yes, he is our premier bowler and we can't do without him but it really pains to see him fielding like that. He is a fit player and can do much better on the field. But he and few other players in the team are as they say in Bengali, "Laij Mota" (Fat Tail) people. Means they are full of themselves and think themselves above the team because of the adulation they get from fans. They can't be bothers or asked to improve in their bowling and fielding. This same Bhajji used to bowl exceptional dusras, few years ago. He used to bamboozle batsmen with his fast Dusras. Now he bowls occasional dusras (the wrong'uns). Most of the time he looks to save runs and to not allow batsman to hit him and in the process darts the balls in the leg side for FIVE wides.
Online Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Bhajji is a team player and will give it his best. Nonsensical thread.
Clarke Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Well Sehwag avergages 22 against aussies in odis So if you are being consistent you will start a thread saying sehwag should not play against aussies in odis! The individual that does not deserve a position is jadu, the sooner we realize it the better.
Gunner_Mania Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Sehwag has an average of 16 on this ground. I think we should not play him on this ground?
ludhianvi Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 If one is going to look at Harbhajan's past stats against Pakistan, then it is also noteworthy that Inzi, Moyo, Younis Khan, and Misbah aren't in the team for Asia Cup either. One batsman who is in the team and has done well is Shoaib Malik but his recent form is patchy.
MUMBAISKIPPER Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Is there any better spinner than Bhajji currently in India??
Sooda Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Its a good point tbh, but as Ludhz quite rightly points out the guys who have done well agst Bhajji- YK, Moyo, are not in the Pak team, and it is relatively inexperienced. He's a key component of the attack and should play.
Gunner_Mania Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Is there any better spinner than Bhajji currently in India?? Sehwag - 4/6 :))
mastana Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Is there any better spinner than Bhajji currently in India?? But can he take wickets now? :hmmm:
