Mostafa Kamal of Bangladesh becomes ACC President

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Mostafa Kamal has been appointed the 21st president of the Asian Cricket Council following the ACC AGM in Singapore today. A senior political figure in Bangladesh, Kamal takes over from PCB chairman Ijaz Butt and will hold the post for the next two years. "I consider this as a great honour for Bangladesh. I wish to thank everyone for their support and seek cooperation from all ACC Member nations so that we can take Asian cricket to new heights," Kamal said. Kamal had been appointed BCB president in September 2009, replacing Sina Ibn Jamali. He assumes the ACC's leadership just after the body successfully conducted the eleventh edition of the Asia Cup in Dambulla, Sri Lanka.

seriously, one of these shouldve been india(even though india is holding world cup 2011) but sri lanka and bangla are also doing so, and giving the world cup to them will make 2 of the boring world cups. situation in pakistan is improving, i think pak should bid in for 2018 fifa world cup

They are far ahead of most countries in terms of event management among other things. How about u start with some bilateral series first, then move to Asia cup, then Champions trophy and so on .. rather than this FIFA WC khayali pulao

It aint good for your health. 30 - 40 years ago Pak was considered to be a decently good country -- very healthy economically. Where is it now? Africa was in a bad shape 30 - 40 years ago -- But all African Nations (except probably Somalia and some other small ones) are getting better day by day. They are getting healthy. Bottom line the whole world is moving forward and getting better. There are very few countries that have regressed and Pak is the leader of that. In fact 30 - 40 years ago -- take a look at the economic indicators -- Pak was at least 10 times better than India, where are the two countries now ?
