i agree that bhajji doesnt bowl like used to. you only have to look at his cumulative averages. this guy started off averaging under 25, was around 27/28 by 2005 halfway in his career and is now averaging 30. that shows you the decline. but he is still a big match winner. and recently he has shown he can take wickets away from home. look at the great series he had in NZ, for example. he will have his bad games, but he will get us wins too. thats just how it is with him. he is no muralitharan, no kumble, and never will be. people should realise that and stop expecting him to behave a certain way

bhajji is not 1/2 of what murli is but i think he will achieve what kumble has..its quite possible if bhajji plays 7-8 year and take wickets on par with his current average

With Harbhajan the issue has been a very simple one from the day he started playing cricket and your last sentence says it all . . . though with Harbhajan it is a bit of an under-statement to just call him an "utter idiot". Of course once in a blue moon when his attempts at doing a Shahid Afridi work the electronic media and the fans go over the top in celebrating and how he should move a bit higher in the order or how he is almost there as a bowling all-rounder and such drivel. Again like Afridi (at a much lower level in every respect) when he makes a complete ass of himself, he pretends as if it was a momentary aberration and the fans go the other way . . .

Spot on. The example of Swann is a good to learn from. He spent the best part of 5 years out of the Eng team and had to fight hard to get in - Eng often play with only one spinner. Once back in the team he has constantly improved both in his bowling and batting to the extent that he is now one of the first names on the team-sheet. Show a real hunger, desire and determination. The contrast with India's co-called senior bowler is embarrassing and shameful. Singh should be at the peak of his powers but in reality looks like a player whose best days are long gone and one who is just going through the motions to pick up his pay cheque.

This is exactly the kind of garbage that over hypes Bhajji. In the previous test against SA, the batting had 4 centurions slamming a massive total of 643 runs. While Mishra, Ishant and Zaheer got 11 wickets between and Bhaji bowled 72 overs in that match so ofcourse he's expected to take wickets also. But somehow that magnificent team performace turns into the same old crybaby whine of "bhaji won us the match"!!! :hysterical:

It was a great team performance, but India wouldn't have won without Bhajji's massive contribution on the 5th day when india were effectively a 3 man bowling attack, or even a 1 man bowling attack, if you overlook a struggling ishant and a useless Mishra.

Did you actually watch that game. Everyone who watched it hailed his match wiining bowling. However, your blind hatred is dismmising his match winning bowling in that game. So basically if bhaji wins us the game and takes the wickets then no credit is given as thats his job. If however, he does not take wickets he gets slaughtered. Blind hatred.

Of course more is expected from Harbhajan - Mishra has played a handful of tests and does not have the experience to close out matches like Harbhajan can. Not sure why day 4/5 are relevant. Fact is Mishra more than played a part in the win and was hardly 'useless'. All of Smith, Kallis, and de Villiers were dismissed off good balls and were not gifted wickets.
