Should ICC re-introduce "SUPER-SUB"?

SUPER-SUB Introduce few years back. Should ICC re-introduce it to make the game balance for both sides at any situation? India is the only team who utilized this rule perfectly. If this rule in WC2011........that will increase chances to win the World cup for India. An extra player who enters in the middle of the match will have so much hopes from their team. Luckily India have so many players to play as SUPER-SUB

not supersub,but in T20s i would like football style substitutions,not in ODI though,Super-sub gives too much advantage to toss winner which is why it was scrapped

It's all relative, isnt' it. As if the opponents team super sub comes on and scores 150 runs, it will be again you, who would be fuming that this rule is unfair.

this was an excelllent idea. i dunno why it was scrapped. with supersub rules, teams like india wont have to worry about the number 7 position. they can keep playing 7 batsmen and then introduce a super sub bowler for that batsman. nothing wrong with the rule...bring it back for the world cup

it was scrapped coz it favoured the team winning the toss hugely.it was often 12 v 11

No. It gave an unfair advantage to the team that won the toss and if I'm not mistaken that was the sole reason why ICC dumbed it.

No. As said there was and would be a massive advantage for the winners of the toss. Plus it just takes away from the challenge teams face of finding a balanced XI in the limited overs format. There is less of an incentive to develop talented versatile cricketers in these games if you can just switch around in the middle of games.

i would much rathersee teams being allowed to play an extra bowler or batsman to make it a more even contest. who wants to see crappy part timers bowling when u could have another specialist. or a team being unable to chase because they lose quick wickets and have a long tail. there is no advantage for anyone if they allow teams to announce supersub after the toss. stuff like this can keep the boring ODI game alive, as its basically dying out

I liked the super sub rule. If I am not wrong, Ind won so many games during that period. What was needed was probably to allow the captains to pick final 11 (from shortlisted 12)after the toss (and not before the toss). ICC has to learn to implement the laws in a way that makes sense

I think this is the right way to introduce super-sub. After toss...captains should announce their super-sub. Then it will be balanced for both sides.

actually the super sub could be introduced at any time in the game. That will take away the toss factor. You are getting hit, you bring in an extra bowler. losing quick wickets bring in another. pitch behaving otherwise, bring in a spinner or seamer (or a trundler in case of India) as the case maybe.
