What do you think of Azhar Ali?

I do not think he is naturally talented, but he is a grinder and may have the temperament for tests, if he works hard and applies himself. Unlike some of the other Pak batsmen, he has made an attempt to stay at the crease in this series (and even the Aus series) and not just gift his wicket. I think his persistence paid off today. Although he still has to improve his technique, he kinda reminds me of a slightly poor version of Dravid at least early in Dravid's career. A grinder. Slow in scoring runs, but in this fragile Pak batting I think it is necessary for someone like Azhar to be there.

It is possible, but the probability of him succeeding is a bit more, as he does not play rash like the Akmals, and his batting is not suited for ODI/T20s so he will probably not play in those formats. But with Pak, who knows!

AZHAR ALI reminds of aakash chopra,good technique but limited stroke play and its really absurd to compare him to even early days of dravid becoz wat i have seen of azhar is that he is not that classy a player,ya but certainly he is better than most of other pak jokers

I sure hope so too, afterall Inzy was an excellent batsman. I have liked what I have seen so far in Azhar Ali. The most important thing required for Test cricket "temperament" is very visible in him. We need to persist with him for long, he will come good...not like he hasn't been coming good.

Chopra had zero strokeplay, just grit. Today some of the backfoot punches he played through cover and the flicks were pretty elegant.

He looks better than most other Pakistani batsmen like Umar and Umar. Has a better temperament. But unfortunately, Umar and Umar seem to be bigger heroes for the Pakistani crowds.
