for some reason i am more comfortable with squats than deadlifts. deadlifts require wayy too much correct form. squat the last couple of reps with a bad form its ok but deads you will never be able to do it.
both require good form otherwise instead of Squat u wud be doing good mrng ... I had issue with Dead lift when i used to take more than 130 KGs.. i felt i was straining my lower back too much ... i studied my form and found that i wasn't lowering my hamstring/glutes enuf... the more lower ur back is its better... u shud start from ur ***** touching ur calves .. then raise in the same position with neck held high... lowing down similar way.. If ur doing back its not recommended to lower the bar below the knee as it would hit the glutes/hamstring.. i tried it ... i can feel my Rhomboid .

I get cracking at 5 am.
You get up at 5am everyday... wow. I want to do that, but I am a night owl. :(( Whenever I have worked out in the morning, I have been full of energy the whole day. It's not easy.

Both deads and squats require good form. If you are not able to complete your routine for either one, lower the weight till you get the form right.

It is a legacy of my teenage years when I prepped for NDA. I would bike every morning an hour from 5-6 before getting ready for school. That stayed with me. :winky: I know its is not easy, plus depending on one's lifestyle how much time one can have, but I certainly do recommend it

So let me ask you this.....I ususally, whenever I get the chance that is work out in the evenings after work...say around 6 or 7. There is an employee gym at my work ,it is a pretty sophisticated gym...I work for a top H.C firm,so the gym is pretty swanky,it's at a more than a subsidised rate for employees as well. The reason I am telling this is I have seen a lot of employees take their Lunch time at their desks and working out for that one hour in the afternoon. As you know it is just aprofessional approach rather than time-constraints... I for one can never imagine working out at that time, even though it looks very convinient...so my question for you is how effective it is to get a work out at that time? I always imagined Early mornings(if you re as dedicated as Lurker) or in the evenings

If I had a gym at work I would seriously consider during lunch times. Specially if it has shower. Getting workout during lunch is not a bad idea. Here is the comparison with morning Morning workout plus: a) Body well rested. b) For men, testosterone levels are optimum. c) No stress that comes typically with having spent couple of hours at work. d) Can have a hearty breakfast after workout. Morning workout minus: a) Not always easy to get up in morning. b) takes a while for body to be alert in gym. Afternoon workout plus: a) Body already warmed up in most ways. b) You dont have your back against the clock, wondering if you would be late to work. Afternoon workoutr minus: a) Test levels start to fall. b) Depending on your work day you may be stressed which increases cortisol level which affects weight c) Often not so easy to grab solid hearty meal at work. It is a good option. Always good to mix things up. Maybe a couple of days at work during lunch and remainder mornings?

What are some good work outs for arms? For starters at least I feel very weak from my arms usually.
Can you do pullups and pushups transparent? If you can, thats the simplest thing to better arms and also upper body

Does hastha maithun help in building good arms, if done properly? Any tips will be appreciated. I find that I am always motivated for this exercise.

Functional exercises ususally need to be done right else you might tennis elbow. Do some dips and pushups initially.

True. It will also depend on your body weight and age. Older you get, worse the joints get. Plus heavier you are tougher pulls up become. As a kid I remember reading how one shouldnt do any curls till he can get atleast 6-8 pullups on his own, specially with underhand grip. I think thats a solid suggestion.

Yes it does, specially if you spend an hour everyday religiously and use a spotter.

Big lifters often enter the GYM after at least 2 meals ... so that body has sufficient carbs with protein to get through some serious lift.. I have even read that early mrng glycogen levels are too low and if u go ahead with intensive workout the body with few minutes can get into a catabolic state with is very bad sign for someone who is lifting to get decent muscles. My take is afternoons are much better.. even i go after my office directly to the GYM after having 3 to 4 meals.

mhr, It comes down to work-life balance. heavy lifters, bodybuilders do take enough meals before workouts for maximum benefits. However thats their bread and butter boss. Their career, and livelihood, often depends on it. For folks like us who also have a job to do things are different. If you see my response with regards to PWO food, I do take a light meal on weekends when there is a bit more time.

Most of the Indians have very small forearms. In US that is sureshot way to seperate Indians from others. Weak forearm with lot of hair :cantstop: . i am sure there are exceptions. Majority fall under this category. (Now don't go at me for stereotyping..)
