Never had an opportunity to do dead lift since i didn't have enough weights. Last month i bought some extra weights. First time in my life i tried dead lift. Last week. Couldn't go beyond 230 lbs. Yesterday i tried again. 252 lbs. which is not really great. But my bench is poor. anything that involves triceps is getting worse. Wonder i need extra rest for triceps muscle.

Yup i know 252 is poor.. i hope i can progress. But i have a feeling i don't give enough rest for my muscles to recover.
U misunderstood me- I was trying to say I thought 252 is not that bad at all now I feel worse because if 252 is not good that means I am barely lifting anything since I do less than 200 Deadlifts have been a challenge for me; for some reason I keep messing up on the form & keep going lighter to try to get form right being overcautious since this one (along with squats) can really cause harm in the long term if not done right

May be i read too much of bodybuilding forum where 250 is looked down upon. :cantstop: They are talking about static contraction training that is supposed to boost the testerone level immensely. i'll give it a shot. But one thing man.. form is very important.. yesterday i heard a small pop in my neck.. dropped immediately and used my knee strap as neck strap. You could hurt yourself real bad with dead lift .

Yeah man- as much as I would love to be a muscle man my main goal remains fitness without compromising joint/ligament stability and avoiding injury I have seen a few examples of gym rat maharathis who do so impressive and then got knocked out for weeks/months at a time specially because of back so want to get form right (with deadlift as opposed to some other exercises it seems to be harder for me to get that form right) As the trainer told me one day just get it right even if you are going lighter- why do you keep trying to go heavier and risk injury when you are not even competing in bodybuilding/powerlifting etc. It was the same thing with squats- I was increasing weights steadily but one day she pointed out that the way I was doing it will not cause injury but it was putting excessive strain on knees which will cause issues later in life Anyway my goals might be different than others so don't want to detract from heavier lifting but all I'll say is that you have to be cautious when reading forums etc. Each person has a different body type and on internet it becomes harder because the guy downplaying 250 Lbs might be the genetically bigger, taller, wider frame vs. someone like myself with a smaller, leaner frame. Besides frame there are other factors too including age, nutrition etc- our own resident mhr.. seems to workout with rakshas like weights but his nutrition is also targeted towards that.

250 plus deadlifts are pretty decent. Specially if you are doing from the ground. My thumb rule is simple - You should be able to top your bodyweight for 8-12 reps in 3 key lifts Squats, Deads and Bench. So if you are 200 pounds and can bench 200*12, squat 200*12, dead 200*12 you are fit and healthy. Anything else is gravy really. Typically for most folks they are heavier on squats and deads compared to benching.

Yeh sun ke acha laga :two_thumbs_up: (although i tend to be more of 8-10 vs 12 reps); for me it goes squats>bench>deadlifts in terms of heavy; I also push towards a little extra weight when working out with my buddy than when on my own VVS ne toh inferiority complex hi de diya tha which would have been bad after how I got my ass kicked in the new boot camp session; the trainer is really athletic & made us do circuit traning where I just felt really queasy after just 1 round. Embarassing as young chics around kept going on without a problem:(( I am hoping something was just not right yesterday- stuff that I ate etc and I can do better next week cos its really a kick-ass session but nervous that since I have been doing so much more lifting vs. cardio (interspersed) that my endurance is poor:nervous: Anyway it was not great for self esteem so plan to focus a bit more on endurance & cardio specially with all the eating in holiday season

Is there a bodyweight exercise equivalent of this ? Kitne chinups, pushups and pullups ?

Is there a bodyweight exercise equivalent of this ? Kitne chinups' date=' pushups and pullups ?[/quote'] Crossfit is built around this actually. I do know that for for pull-ups this is typically how it goes 1-5 = Average 5- 10 = Good 10-20 - V.Good 20+ = Great Pushups aur squats ka pata nahin. Personally I think 25+ plus pushups should be good, 50+ great. Squats 50+ good, 75+ great. BUt thats my thought, no science behind it, so take it with a grain of salt

Hate pullups....worst exercise out there  :(( :((
try burpees man- ***** phat ke haath mein... thing with pullups is that as u keep doing them u can start seeing an increase in ease and no. if you havve been training regularly

Squat i can definitely improve.. but i don't have squat rack. It is difficult to lift up bring it down to my shoulders and do it. My forearms fail big time. Regarding bench, my worst enemy is triceps.

I am not that good man. I have so many weak spots. Also my diet is poor. Diet plays a huge role. I am so random with my diet. Try different pre workout food. Banana works great for me. Apple and almond butter as well.. Also recovery time varies from person to person. I think i recover slower than normal. Especially triceps take lot of time tor recover. hence i am stuck without doing anything. If i try i fail very easily.
