India is one of the poorest countries in the world, yet they have so many billionaires in the country. Isn't it sad? Posted by Faireness | 09/11/10 02:09 PM EDT
What an ill-informed, stupid user!

What an ill-informed' date=' stupid user![/quote'] Well he's not that far off. A recent study showed there are more people below the poverty line in India than there are in Africa

Oh yes' date=' remember reading this. But I doubt whether this is an informed opinion per se. Or is it more like a "hey, this country is getting better, but lets still talk about its underbelly and undermine it" kinda statistical analysis.[/quote'] u couldn't be more uninformed. India has the most number of people below poverty (by international standards, not the sarkari Rs. 168 per month) by some distance. The number of people suffering from hunger is 300+ million with 180+ million suffering from chronic hunger. That's huge! There has been some poverty reduction in the last two decades but the road ahead is very very long.

I dont give a **** if we have 100 billionnaires in India! When there are 300 more million indians who can't buy a ****ing meal twice a day, it doesn't matter.
