I like saurabh tiwary and would be happy if he gets a chance. Probably Dhoni would be jealous of his hairstyle and may not give him a chance though :secret:
:haha:

He should get a Look in ahead of Sir Donald Jadeja and Nohit Sharma.

No its too early, Ajinkya Rahane should be there instead in the ODI squad. All Tiwary has to show for is a few cowlashings in the IPL. Rahane is definitely a batsman of higher quality. OTOH, Tiwary has been rotting on the Seniors bench on a few tours whilst Rahane has been getting A team experience... so cant complain

Bigg big fan of this guy. Totally fearless guy and plays with positive attitude. It's sad that sachin gets all the credit but people always forget to appreciate hs effort for MI sucess in last ipl. IMO hecan be our trump card for our 2011 cup. He is a must for our t20 squad

This guy has a lot ticker. The way he stood his ground and manhandled Steyn on a bouncy Durban pitch against 145 kph bowling was truly impressive. I thought he was he all brawn and little else. Today he showed he has a big heart as well!

I dont think we can compare Rahane and Tiwary as they aren't competing for the same spot IMO. Rahane is a top order batsmen whereas Tiwary seems to fit the category of a lower order batsmen (#5/6/7) as a finisher. The top is heavily loaded and there doesnt seem to be much, if any room for a newcomer to break through whereas the #7 position is still not permanent at the moment. There are very few players in contention for that elusive #7 position namely the Pathan bros, Uthaapa, Jadeja. So Tiwary does have a chance to take that spot or atleast be in contention for it. The ideal situation would have been to play him in the recent SL series. I haven't included Kohli in the above list as I think he is a much better player playing up the order. As for Tiwary's game, he does posses the power game required for that spot and I think his temperament will also improve as he gets more experience. That's why its important that when the opportunity arrives, to give the potential WC players a chance to play in the ODIs. Though he could use a bit of work fine-tuning his fielding skills and fitness in general.

That is a good pt, though no 7 is low for Tiwary and we would need an allrounder there. That leaves 5 or 6... and maybe ST can come in handy there...

Sad part wid us Indian fans is that any player who plays agressively is called as 'slogger'. Seems like a forward defensive block n tuk tuk impresses wannabe purists than a four over midwicket. People forget that you win by scoring runs not by number of balls played. When sehwag came in test arena, he was called FTB slogger. Unfortunately I see same scene for S Tiway. He will always be called ipl slogger sadly.

We NEED a slogger at 7. SO if Tiwari is labelled as a slogger, he shud be tried at No.7 If he can play this way in SOuth Africa why couldnt he play like this in India? COme on cheeka n co, give this lad a chance

Cheeka & Co.? He's the part of ODI squad lately. Dhoni decided to stick with his soulmate Jaddu & Nohit even in dead rubber against Lanka in the Asia cup. And he didn't get a look in the triseries either, but Jaddu/Nohit made took their spots for granted. Now we're hardly left with like 2 or 3 ODI series b4 wcup, hope Tiwary gets a consistent run as he seems to be the ideal candidate for #7 spot.

I was skeptical about the way he would handle Steyn but the way he sent him packing for a 6 really gave me a lot of confidence. Technically he may not be the best but he does seem to be having the wits needed. YEsterday the way he played really helped MI post that score. Even this aspect of his matches with Dhoni, they may look ugly but they do have the acumen to bail the side out of trouble.

How he handled Steyn and Kallis Yesterday was amazing....that 6 on Steyns 142 Ks bouncer was even amazing.....He has the ability to soak the pressure which he done the last IPL and in this CL....making of a good limited over cricket batsman and if he plays for India then his position should be #6.... SRT VSehwag GGambhir SRaina YSingh STiwary MSD That will be an awesome batting order in world cup in Indian conditions
