No one can ever compensate a mistake like that, but I hope he forgets about the catch and concentrates on his batting when his turn comes. Sit happens.

Two regulation catches that weren't half chances and the first one came very early when they would have been expecting chances with the new ball. With a lack of firepower in our bowling we need to be very good in our fielding like Raina was.

If the game turns out to be a relatively low scoring, attritional type one (the pitch is not unplayable, but the bounce isn't the best so you have to grind out your runs on it) then those dropped catches will prove the difference, yes. As things stand, they have hurt us really badly (let's hope the Paine drop doesn't hurt us even more) but if we have an excellent first innings with the bat they will hopefully not cost us the game.

I think too much is being made of how costly it is/might be. End of the day we're in a good position to get into their tail if we get Paine early tomorrow. Watson showed no sign of maintaining/upping the ante secured before Pwnting got out so the drops aren't yet nearly as costly as they could be

224/5. 17 runs in the last 40 overs. I'd say job well done. Could've been better had he clinged on but we might have become a touch relaxed and its a shady situation to be in. Lets keep the ifs and buts out and enjoy the game.

Of course missed chances make a difference, that’s a simple no-brainer. As Indian fans, what would we should worried about is whether (Our Competence) – (Our mistakes) >> (Aussie Competence) – (Aussie mistakes). And knowing those guys, they rarely put a feet wrong in the field. It is easy to sit back and say that had we taken our chances, the Aussies would probably be 200/9 by the End of day or something, but we cannot make such simplistic assumptions because it doesn’t work that way.

The 2 dropped catches of Watson and an overall sloopy day in the field ' date=' will is cost India the game ???[/quote'] It will be very costly for sure. All our players need to work double hard in rest of the match, to make up for all the lapses. And now that No-ball Sharma may not bowl in the match, we only have 3 bowlers!!!

I hope there is no more blemishes from India.Dhoni hasn't had a good day on the field in context of his wicjet keeping.I am sure, he will come back today strongly.
