PCB lifts one-year ban on Rana Naved KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lifted a 12-month ban and halved a fine on all-rounder Rana Naved. Naved was among seven players banned or fined by the PCB after a shambolic tour to Australia earlier this year, on the grounds of misconduct and indiscipline. “It is a great relief to finally be cleared of this ban and now I just want to focus on cricket,†Naved told reporters in Lahore after a hearing of the appellate tribunal of the board. Naved, 32, said he was always confident he would be cleared and now his main aim would be to make a comeback to the national team. “These punishments were a dark chapter of my cricket career and I want to get over it and from tomorrow I will play domestic cricket and show my form,†he said. The appellate tribunal also reduced a fine of two million rupees ($23,242) to half that amount. Talib Rizvi, legal advisor to the PCB, said appeals judge Irfan Qadir had lifted the ban as Naved had apologized for his conduct and served six months of the suspension. “He is now free to be considered for national selection,†Rizvi said. wasnt he the one who said i underperformed ? if rana is an allrounder then pak should take 2-3 yr break from international cricket and build something before playing quality sides

Pakistan just lost a ODI series against England narrowly 3-2 and that was without Asif,Amir,Butt and Younis Khan. I also havent mentioned the amazing umpires. :haha: Pakistan will always have quality, it is the off field stuff that is the problem.

so you actually want to bring up quality of a bowler like Ishant who few days back not only ran through aussie middle order but also avg more with the bat than 3-4 of your test batsman this year When will you Pakistanis learn that you are a below avg team, you dont have talent and till you stop making excuse for all the players who are responsible for your current state you will continue losing for years and years to come.

What's that got to do with the comment that he made which was that Shoaib is significantly better than I Sharma is and will ever be. Sharma averaged 37 in Test cricket and 30 in ODI cricket that's not poor, that's disgusting. Shoaib averages 25 and 24 in Tests and ODIs and there is daylight between the two as crickters. Yes Shoaib has had many scandals and should be serving numerous bans, but he's injured half the time anyway. You say Ishant is much better because of his batting, well it's not like Ishant averages 30 with that bat. The point that was made was that Shoaib is better than Ishant and that is correct. Ishant will improve that average of 37 in Test Cricket, but I highly doubt he'll ever be a sub 30 avg bowler.
