Andy Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Agree with Yoda ..... But the students in this case were upset about bad marks.I wish they had spent the time they spent abusing the teacher more fruitfully by studying.I believe it was the math paper. It's not easy to give bad marks in math if you have done the work well.If the students had a problem...they should have met the higher authorities and got the papers looked into.If that didn't work...they could have asked their parents to intervene. Most teachers are very strict with the markng specially in the 10th and 12th class tests .It usually makes most students hit the books harder..... Offtopic : For a fact do you know in Calcutta University you cant challenge your Copy or ask for a review in case you score below 35?:giggle:
yoda Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Most teachers are very strict with the markng specially in the 10th and 12th class tests .It usually makes most students hit the books harder..... I think being strict across the board is ok, some teachers go crazy and pick on some students and also tend to show favoritism to an extreme towards other students. This pisses off the affected students a lot and it dents their morale. Not sure if that was the case here. Typically kids don't care if a crazy teacher marks everyone down.
beetle Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 I bet most of have had a mixed bag of teachers. I remember a physics teacher Mr.Rana who would refuse to give up even if the student gave up.....He would come back to the student again and again trying different ways to make the student understand. Not the best teacher but probably the most sincere and hardworking. Another one who hardly made any effort but was brilliant .Mr.Banerjee Then there was a sanskrit teacher who hit us on the knuckles with the wooden duster....I don't remember his name.
beetle Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Offtopic : For a fact do you know in Calcutta University you cant challenge your Copy or ask for a review in case you score below 35? Crazy commies!!:--D
yoda Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 I think a little bit of physical punishment is ok to get the kids who are out of control back in order. In our school, our principal reserved her right to slap anyone (right in front of other students) if she felt their behavior was unacceptable as in repeated laughing with no respect during morning prayers/assembly, copying during exams, etc. Just that fear factor kept the kids under control for most part.
Andy Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Crazy commies!!:--D Well something Happned with me and Many of my Batchmates this year. In some of our subjects we were expecting well above 60% to say the least, what came out was a shocker and due to the pathetic Education system of our State or City whatever you call it, we cannot even challenge the marksheet. Now we are left with Poor marks all through our life and we will be offcourse discriminated against people with Good marks. Thats life.
Andy Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Anyways protesting against the Education system in India is itself equal to Banging your head against the wall.

Andy Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 I am not sure' date=' but I think you can always challenge the evaluation in a court of law and even demand compensation. I could be wrong though. Which state is it?[/quote'] Yes we can, But in the Court of Law thats a lengthy process and will take a long time. Not just the Time factor, i'll have to spend some bucks as well on my lawyear. BTW its Bengal.

EnterTheVoid Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 So if your parents beat you' date=' you should beat them too? Is that what you are implying here?[/quote'] Well Said.
Andy Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Well Said. Trolling at its worst :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:

Andy Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Yeah' date=' you probably flunked for realz.[/quote'] Dont think so, its not only my case, am pretty confident on what i wrote. Infact it was my Best exam, should have got 60 atleast. Stop defending our Corrupt education system. Its not just my case many who were expecting good marks had to face this. Do you even know CU examiners dont even check copies? You dont obviously, so stop questioning the students. If you ever get a chance of interacting with any ex CU students do ask him/her about my claims. They dont check papers , put up marks on average. What a pathetic response without even having an Idea about Calcutta Education system.
Aaku Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 :wall: Why should i apologise when i havent even touched the teacher?:(( If thats the case why would you write 'we beat up a teacher :hehe: ', to act "cool" ? :dontknow: Anyway good that you dint do anything cz that is just pathetic ! Those students suspended must have written something seriously insulting :nervous:

Those students suspended must have written something seriously insulting :nervous: The point was not acting "cool". Its the way few Dumbheaded people took. Not my fault though. My point was during our days if students can get away with something of that sort why they cant. Coin has 2 sides, its the side you call what matters. And i seriously dont need anyone to certify me as Good or Bad, its my life i'll do what i wish.
