Hindustani Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 5840155 - You just couldn't see it on Wiki Bangalore has about 8 million actually (bangalore outskirts) though ya, the city may have 6M
fineleg Posted October 14, 2010 Author Posted October 14, 2010 Eden Gardens should get more tests. Dont know whats wrong with BCCI they dont consider it good enough. The crowd at EG should learn to behave. There have been some nonsense behavior (throwing things, rioting etc) by the crowd, thats one reason BCCI does not schedule too many matches there. @dsr: No, thats not 'atmosphere'. Thats just plain nonsense and nuisance.

Thats just plain nonsense and nuisance. I love it. A fewe paper cups being thrown on to the pitch is no big deal. And yes it is atmosphere. At least they bother to turn up. And when they do they are bang in to the game. I admire the lose and we hate it and win we go nuts.
fineleg Posted October 14, 2010 Author Posted October 14, 2010 ^ You can love it, but if there is anymore hooliganism, they stand to lose the Test status for the venue. Hopefully, those things will not be repeated, and we can go back to having a decent full capacity at EG. Such things wont be tolerated by BCCI, visiting teams nor by Indian team.
King Tendulkar Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 ^ Nothing serious has happened. Paper being thrown, baiting of chappel and obbssession with dada. Its all good fun mind you. They act like a football crowd and give a unique atmosphere to world cricket. Seems more political reasons re Dalymia etc then an behaviour issues as to why no games at eden. For me it provides the best atmosphere in world cricket. Trust me oppo love it as well. Everyone moans about crowds and death of test cricket. Then we have a ground which will provide 90,000 people jumping up and down for 5 days and people get on their moral high horse and say nah they make to much noise. Fine stick to holding it at venues were 10 people turn up and barely mak a wimper. Want to save tests? Then EDEN GARDENS MUST BE INDIAS NO 1 VENUE. p.s pick a bengali as well and they will be hanging from the roofs watching:giggle:
ravishingravi Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 5 test venues I would prefer in India Bengaluru Chennai Wankhede, Mumbai Eden Gardens Mohali:- Yes, still mohali. Simply because it produces the best test pitch in India.

Gunner_Mania Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 show me where it is mentioned upfront ( first paragraph ) like it's mostly for other cities. if it was mentioned in some corner...faaack it, I don't have patience n time to look for it..lol http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bangalore There is a facts table for most city entires on Wiki on the right side. If you look below the pictures. Anyways I didnt look it up on the web, the iPhone wiki app showed me that info neatly one below the other :--D Bangalore has about 8 million actually (bangalore outskirts) though ya' date=' the city may have 6M[/quote'] I don't know..I just quoted that number off Wikipedia for U_S.
vvvslaxman Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 I concur with Dhoni. What an atmosphere. The noise reminded me of Chennai noise when Sachin made 155 in 1998 against Australia. It was deafening. Ofcourse there is Eden Gardens crowd something no other ground can match.
