Andy Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 For heavens sake people need to Understand that Sehwag is a makeshift opener' date=' who just stands and slogs. Hardly moves his feet. The guy is one 'Cross Batted' player who wont be making runs anywhere other than Flat tracks. Yes he is a good Player of Spin Indeed. But not Quality Fast bowling.[/quote'] :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:

No. Till then He will not be my pick unless he proves himself against the best or the 2nd best.
ShahidAfridi Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Shane Watson scores 50 all the time. Sehwag is hit and miss, A true opener for me is somebody who can play in all types of conditions. Sehwag would get eaten alive by Steyn,Amir,Asif in English conditions or slight movement.

Shahid Afridi is telling Sehwag is "hit and miss" :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Then what Afridi is - a "miss"? :hysterical::hysterical:

VRV Singh Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Shahid Afridi fanboi criticises other cricketer for being 'hit and miss' :cantstop: Anyway this thread topic is probably best saved for after the Ashes...should sort out where the likes of Anderson, Twatto etc stand
f.b.m Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Shane Watson scores 50 all the time. Kasme bro... Watsons a steady geeza like mi Metrocab init..
Chorazin Reto Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 On current form i dont think u can go past Watson as 1 of the openers. http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=1;orderby=batting_average;spanmax2=16+Oct+2010;spanmin2=19+Jul+2009;spanval2=span;team=2;template=results;type=batting The other opener has to be Sehwag with the master coming in at 3. Ponting at 4, after that id go with Jaya and of course Kallis, Swann i think has proved himself over the last year or so. The only odd nut is Hilfenhaus. Watson Sehwag Tendulkar Ponting Jayawardene Kallis Swann Z.Khan Steyn Hilfenhaus

Sachinism Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Tamim might have a stake on the openers spot
fineleg Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 ^ For Tests? Not when you have other class openers.
Bradman99 Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 1. Watson 2. Sehwag 3. Kallis 4. Tendulkar 5. Jayawardene 6. Clarke/ De Villiers 7. Sangakarra 8. Swann 9. Anderson 10. Steyn 11. Zaheer
Raghav_12 Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 1. Watson 2. Sehwag 3. Kallis 4. Tendulkar 5. Jayawardene 6. Clarke/ De Villiers 7. Sangakarra 8. Swann 9. Anderson 10. Steyn 11. Zaheer Pretty good team. But I would fit in Amla in place of Clarke/Devilliers. A definite case can be made for Laxman/Chanderpaul/ Katich (if he is fine playing in middle order) in place of Jayawardene.
King Tendulkar Posted October 16, 2010 Author Posted October 16, 2010 In 2010 watson averages pathetic 38. This is actually higher then his poor caarer average of 39!! The guy only has 2 test tons to his name. Including him in a world 11 is ridiculous. His carrer record is poor and his curent form(based on 2010 overall) is poor, no basis for him being anywere near a world 11. Forget Smith and Gambhir even Strauss is better
girishk14 Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Grame Smith Virendar Sehwag Ponting S. Tendulkar Laxman Kallis Swann Anderson Steyn Zaheer Khan and Bollinger Whos keeping wickets?
