man it was so good when we had those test matches against the Ozzies. This is what happens when tests are not bein played. all you get is nonsense posts all over the board. All the hidden troals come out of the woodwork armed with their statsguru skills to prove one theory after another.

Gunner: I was adding to my post to point out tht india's w/l ratio has increased since dhoni has arrived. didnt contradict my post, u need to revisit the definition of contradiction. U come across as a lame poster.

Came across a few troals here today who Undermine dhoni's contribution as a capt, batter and keeper. Believe tht sach is the be all end all of cricket and tht dhoni doesnt have the potential to match his contributions disrespect other people's legit pt of views n label them as troals Go by recordbooks only n not by the conti one sees on field. PS: typing this on a phone, surely my last post for the day

Not trying to undermine MSD but As far as Dhoni's captainncy goes he was lucky to be a captain in a team with ..... Sehwag,Sachin,VVS,Gambhir being in their supreme best over the last 2 years.Ricky ponting is an example...he has 2 worldcups and awesome winning streaks when he had a star studded team but now take them away and we can see loopholes in his leadership skills...Dhoni is similar in that aspect. WorldcupT20 2007 was good captaincy butwhat was his contribution with the bat in his victory...once again look at all great captains who have acheived trophies before him..For eg ODI World cups: Imran Khan unified a unstable team,Kapil Dev-Individual brilliance,Steve waugh-fighting spirit,Arjuna-Team building and stable leadership and lets not even bring Clive Lloyd in here.Is Dhoni comparable to any of them as a great captain??? As an Individual performance when was the last time when Dhoni singlehandedly won a game for us with his batting or rescued us from the jaws of defeat...Being notout iin lost causes to boost average doesn't count. Backing up average players like Jaddu,Jogi,Gony...As a leader you need to be able to scout talent Lets not even bring up his skills as test match batsman. Dhoni is a goood bits-and-pieces player and I agree he keeps his cool in tense situations which is missing in the new generation of Indian cricketers. He is a rare breed among the new generation but don't even put him in the same bracket as the legends I have mentioned yet. But yes from my question perspective that he might be the next enigma...I will take your argument but in my opinion he isn't there yet tbh as you are trying to prove.

most of them are insecure that Dhoni is getting to be more popular than that little fellow :--D
=> one of the greatest captains and smartest cricketing brains the world has ever seen => one of the coolest blokes under pressure. rarely see him animated on field. Tremendous finisher => very good keeper(esp grt stumper and awesome with the runouts) => gutsy batter in general you take out sachin, india still got a fair chance at WC if dhoni goes, alongwith go the majority of indian chances of winning WC 2011.. Thts how important dhoni is in indian scheme of things lately. Prolly asking too much to appreciate frm a few thick-headed sach god workshippers over here.

I attribute Sachin's good form to Dhoni's captaincy. He now knows he doesnt have the world on his shoulders. I know some one-eyed worshippers would tend to disagree with me on this.

KT has different sample size criteria for different players: Che - 1 (OK) Lohmann - 18 (OK) Bradman - 52 (NOT OK) :winky: BTW, vaibhav_delh this doesn't mean I agree with any of your posts. :hehe:
Lohmann played for 10 years. back then difficult to play loads of matches as had to travel by horse to all matches and took about 2 years to travel to oz by boat and camel. That does not mean he should be denied his rightful place in history with his stat busting 10 average. No idea why everyone is after the moutstached twirler all the time:((
