Desi Daroo Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Does anyone have firm news on the ODI's as to which games are D/N and which are Day games.....I have heard that the info on sites such as cricinfo and cricbuzz etc etc is incorrect and that the 3rd and 5th are now actually day games rather than D/N as being advetised ? Can anyone advise ?

My understanding is that the 3rd ODI on 4th Dec is now a day game but I was asking if anyone could confirm this. No good posting the cricinfo schedule to me .

No good posting the cricinfo schedule to me . it should be a day game,may be wrongly posted by cricinfo,becoz as far as I know,IPCL stadium in Vadodra doesnt have flood lights

Sitting quietly on his designated chair at the New Zealand's 'meet the press' session, the boy from Cantebury watched his more popular team-mates being hungrily devoured by the television cameras. He brushed his unkempt hair to kill the loneliness, punctuating the self-ruffling by swinging his right arm to complete a paralysed bowling action. It was barely the customary announcement of the next pace sensation to the cricketing world, or the express 23-year old who is said to have set speed guns blazing back home in New Zealand. There isn't a shade of pretence in the young Kiwi's low pitched voice either, a far cry from the baritone introductions of pace upstarts around the world. "I'm still a shy country lad I guess, and I still struggle to make strong statements about my bowling. I've come to announce my arrival, but I prefer to let my bowling do the talking," Bennett says. And quite a talk the ball has done so far. 'Stunned' at being handpicked by coach Mark Greatbatch for the Bangladesh tour, Bennett was one of the only Kiwis to come out unscathed from the debacle of a series (4-0 whitewash). "When Mark called me to join the squad, I was too stunned to even reply. The dream of playing for your country is just an overawing experience." "I'm just getting a feel of international cricket and closely watching how people go about the business of playing cricket. It was petrifying initially, making your debut when the team was receiving a bit of stick for its performances on the field, but I feel a little more comfortable now that I've been around for a month," he adds. But where did all begin? "I was overawed by the great Kiwi cricketers who hailed from Cantebury. The likes of Chris Cairns, Nathan Astle, Lee Germon and of course Shane Bond," he says with a fan-like enthusiasm. The last name on the list proved to be a catalyst in his teenage days, forcing the well built lad to try and bowl as fast as Bond. Comparisons with the legendary Cantebury quick have already started, but Benett is quick to shrug it off. "I want to be my own person. I think it's too early to start comparing me with a legend like Bond, but of course the adulation is always heart warming. We're different bowlers." For one, Bennett doesn't have a classical action like his small-town hero, it almost hinges on the awkward. "It looks completely different in my head. The first time I saw it on video, I was in total shock." But with coach Greatbatch having given him the license to bowl fast and worry about nothing else, the beauty - or lack of it - of the action is hardly an issue. With crossed fingers, he says: "I hope I can make my debut here. To be bowling to the legends: Sachin and Dravid and Laxman will be a feeling I can't describe. I just want to go out there and bowl some quick stuff," he adds. The myth of Bennett's speed hasn't yet spread on Indian shores, but rest assured, he is a few death-rattling hurls away from never walking into a media hall unnoticed again.

More... Bennett blow for Black Caps Already struggling to contain India's swash-buckling bastmen, the Black Caps have been dealt a further blow with paceman Hamish Bennett unlikely to bowl on the second day of the first Test against India in Ahmedabad. The Cantabrian sustained a groin strain while bowling yesterday and captain Daniel Vettori looks to be without the debutants services when day two gets underway today. The medical team said that it is too early to tell how serious the groin injury is and are providing ongoing assessment and treatment today. Bennett said he was 'gutted' to be sidelined and will do everything he can to get fit so he can take part later in the Test match.

If India can get to say 150ish and then with a spinning track on 5th day and maybe bhajji will perform and ojha looks not so bad in this game. Anything is possible I dont necessarily think that Nz have this game in pocket. If India can survive till the end of day and get to 150ish..anythign is possible tommorow?

It can only happen if all our (remaining) batsmen fight - Tendu, Laxy, Raina and Dhoni 200 will be more than enough for a win or draw I think but 150 does give a decent chance on 5th day for a win in Indian conditions imo.
