Mate. No keeper in world cricket atm could replace dhoni for the role he plays for indian team. no one would want to take a prior, boucher or haddin in his place and make sehwag the captain.

No, I do not agree with your overhype abt Dhoni. If there is a superior keeper-batsman in India, I'd take player (for Test matches). For ODIs, Dhoni's batting is good. (And, yes, Viru will be the captain in that scenario for Tests)

i am not overhyping. He is respected all over the world. Captain of icc world test XI this year mate. And well if u talk abt ODIs , he is def. more invaluable than sachin atm.

if you trying to refer to Sachin's relative absence from ODI's that it may be ok comment. Otherwise it is laughable..

Allrounder James Franklin has been called up to replace the injured Hamish Bennett for the remaining two Tests against India. Bennett, who injured his groin while bowling on the first day of the Ahmedabad Test, will return to New Zealand for further testing and rehabilitation. Doubts about Jesse Ryder's ability to bowl in the next game also factored into the selection of Franklin, as the New Zealand selectors wanted someone who could bat and bowl. "It's an unfortunate injury for Hamish, which will see him miss the remainder of the Test series against India, Mark Greatbatch, the New Zealand coach said. "However, it does create another opportunity for James Franklin to come back into the Blackcaps squad. "Franklin showed good form with bat and ball in Zimbabwe, where he successfully led New Zealand A to a series win." New Zealand A won two of the three unofficial Tests they played against Zimbabwe, with Franklin making 180 runs at an average of 60, with one century, and taking 10 wickets at an average of 17.2. Franklin hasn't played Test cricket for over 18 months though. His last Test came, coincidentally, against India in Wellington in April 2009. Over 26 Tests, he has made 644 runs at an average of 21.46, and taken 80 wickets at 32.65, with a best of 6 for 119. Franklin will arrive in Hyderabad on November 10, two days before the start of the second Test.

He is being replaced in the tour squad by Wellington allrounder James Franklin, who is scheduled to join the tourists in Hyderabad on Wednesday, two days before the second Test starts in that city. It means the umpteenth recall to the national side for Franklin, who captained New Zealand A in Zimbabwe last month, and an unfortunate early flight back to New Zealand for Bennett. "Hamish is not available for the next Test and unfortunately he'd be marginal for the third Test," coach Mark Greatbatch said today. "You have to be careful with something like that (groin strain) and pushing it too hard." Bennett, 23, delivered 15 overs on the first day before leaving the field. He appeared again only to bat for 42 minutes to score four runs during New Zealand's first innings of 459. Meanwhile, Jesse Ryder, who made his third Test century in that innings, has been declared fit for the second Test despite a calf strain keeping him from the bowling crease again today. His handy medium pacers were missed as captain Daniel Vettori was left with only one seamer, Chris Martin, at his disposal as India made 266 in their second innings to ensure the match ended in a draw. It is unclear at this stage whether Ryder will be alright to bowl at Hyderabad, but his batting skills alone are invaluable, given his 103 in a record fifth wicket partnership of 194 with debutant Kane Williamson, who marked his maiden Test by scoring 131. The New Zealanders leave for Hyderabad tomorrow on a charter flight with the Indians.

That Bennet fellow has a very awkward action. I know that wasn't the cause here, but that action is stiff. He wants to have a cooler action like Debashish Mohanty, but he just doesn't have enough Oriya in him.

:cantstop: But Franklin is a batsman who can bowl.He was taken into the side for his batting at no.7 :phehehe: India will still do well, and Franklin is not a threat to our star studded batting line up.
