Jeetan Patel, one of the better spinners in the game???

Always thought he wasn't given as much chance as he should be considering first choice has always been Vettori for NZ and then three seamers to go along with in most tracks. I believe he can bowl better then Vettori too and is definately a candidate of being one of the best spinners in the game. This tour for him will be really testing. It will be easy to get thrashed and take wickets of sehwag, but it will be very hard for him to bowl to likes of Dravid, Tendulkar, Laxman. That said, I beleive if he might turn out to be the best NZ bowler on tour if given proper chance in all 3 tests. I enjoy watching him bowl, plus he has a nice action too.

I think Jeetan Patel is good on pitches where there is good bounce, since he has a good loop. On slower tracks, he will be ineffective.

Never said he is a better bowler than vettori.. The way he bowls, he can definately improve. has a good flight delivery plus he looks like a typical subcontinent bowler. He needs to be played consitently though. Rite now he is no where as good as Vettori for sure.

agree with op ....they have messed up his career , would have been very good ODI bowler had he been given a consistent run...being in n out of the side hasnt helped his confidence and please lets not judge based on how viru and co play him

If Jeetan patel is better than Vettori....... Ramesh powar also much better than Jeetan patel and Vettori. If Ramesh powar is better than these two........ Pragynan Ojha is better that Ramesh powar and these two. Finally..... Pragnyan Ojha is better than Vettori................ Anyone accept this?
