There is something called grahastithi in hinduism which wont work in ur favour i m keen believer that she is panoti
I am also becoming a keen believer that it is fans like you who are panoti fo India. If India did nit have fans like you we would have won the world cup twice nowand been No 1 side for a decade now. Tendulkar would have got over 150 hundreds by now. Can you think else that you are responsible for?

U r hillarious bhai u want to blame fans like me just remember fans dont play players do so what u said doesnt connect i have been a die hard fan of india & sachin since i was 13 i saw this team ups and downs and even in future i ll support them regardless of results what ever u say doesnt have no effect on me.

If india didnt follow superstitions y did ganguly wear 99 number on his shirt y does tendulkar wear his lucky bracelet even though he is the greatest cricketer in the world there are so many factors u can take into account but i seriously think sakshi wife of dhoni is a panoti to dhoni .

what is this new panoti factor? :hysterical: may be it will help us settle the Bradman vs Modern Greats dispute. :hehe:
U dont need panotic factor tendulkar is already the greatest batsman of all time better than bradman.

Dhoni as a batsman has gone missing in Tests. Given that Dhoni will play the SA series as a keeper and captain - and we can expect our tail to start at #7, we absolutely need the most in-form Test batsmen at the top 6 for the SA series. The weak points are Dravid's form, Gambhir's utter lack of form and Raina's Test match batting skills against good pace and bounce. Thats 3 of our top 6 a bit iffy. I am still hoping Dravid and Gambhir stabilize and/or find their form in the course of the NZ series, and hopefully Raina will settle in. Else, we do need to start relying on Murali Vijay, Pujara and maybe take Virat Kohli as an extra batsman to the SA tour. The latter more for getting tour experience with the team probably. We need to be able to carry an out-of-form Dhoni (passenger, batting wise), and we really need a terrific top 6 in-good-form to be able to handle that liability for a Test series or two esp. against Steyn, Morkel and Parnell.

Last I checked the Indian Team, Dhoni's wife doesnt play either. If he is playing ****, he is playing ****, what has his wife got to do with it, It is not like she is standing in the middle and moving his bat or feet for the stroke.

In the Last 12 months he is averaging 48, that is more than 8 points better than his career avaerage of 39.90. In 2010 he is averaging 38.10 that is just a shade short of his career average. In the last 9 matches this year he has had 2 half centuries and a century. Yes he is just a bit out of form at the moment, but just like so many others in India currently. For a batsman who bats at position 6/7/8 he has got over 400 runs this year, that is the 4th highest for India this calendar year. I seriously :dontknow: what the fuss is all about? http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?batting_positionmax1=8;batting_positionmin1=6;batting_positionval1=batting_position;class=1;filter=advanced;orderby=runs;qualmin1=300;qualval1=runs;spanmax1=31+Dec+2010;spanmin1=01+Jan+2010;spanval1=span;template=results;type=batting http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=1;filter=advanced;orderby=runs;spanmax1=31+Dec+2010;spanmin1=01+Jan+2010;spanval1=span;team=6;template=results;type=batting

The good thing is his slump in batting form has not significantly affected his captaincy. He still has sharp instincts like promoting Pujara in last test against Aus. His keeping is more or less steady but India really need his batting to click sooner than later. Especially in RSA, we could easily be down 48/4 , we need Dhoni to come in and make useful contribution. Hope Kirsten is talking to Dhoni and making him get serious net practice. He should not take his place for granted.

It all depends on the sort of expectations one has of Dhoni as a batsman. As far as I am concerned he is an average batsman who thrives when the team has set up a solid foundation, specially on flat tracks. As a result these kind of failures don't disappoint me, but they do serve the purpose of driving home the point that expectations from Dhoni should be commensurate to his abilities, which are in a single word, average. He is doing a reasonable job behind the stumps, though has become more sloppy off late. He is a very good captain, and an average batsman who can take the game away from the opposition if the top order has set up the match. He just does not have a technically strong enough or a versatile enough game as a batsman to play the sort of innings top order batsmen are capable of.

Dhonis batting is extremely poor. I am not sure if his spot will be safe if he doesnt pick up his performance and score runs consistently in next 7-8 tests or so.

Who are the other 'reasonably decent' keeper batsmen in India? We already know the names of Parthiv Patel, W.Saha, Dinesh Kartik. (Robin Uthappa only in some limited over format) Any other names from domestics who are supposed to be decent keeper-batsmen? Seems to be a big deficit in this area in domestic cricket.

Had a look at their batting averages. Uday Kaul averages nearly 50 in 1st class!! WOW. Wonder why no one has pushed for this guy so far. Has had a very consistent run in domestic cricket for last 3 years. 2007-08 9 matches, 600 runs@54 with 2 100s and 2008-09 8 matches, 588 runs@58 with 2 100s and 3 50s 2009-10 9 matches, 625 runs@48 with 1 100 and 5 50s No other Indian keeper comes close to having a domestic avg of 50 (including MSD, DK and PP)!!
