vaibhav_delhi Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Umesh Yadav? WTF is this?! effin musical chairs? Where the heck is Mithun, Tyagi etc? Saha's selection is bit of a surprise, but understandable. yadav has got a strong action and good pace. Mithun cant bowl a bouncer. Tyagi not that bright yet. Although both Mithun and Tyagi should get their chances hopefully in times to come.
Sir john Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 sree will provide us some aggression in bowling.

Zimbabwe series showed that either he's all hype and no substance or he's not intl standard yet. Dinda bowled much better than him at better pace.

Sid Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Yadav :hmmm: Random, to say the least VRV you're sad you were not selected, considering you were there on the last tour :D
Laaloo Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 How does this even make any sense? And why is Nehra dropped from the ODI team?
akshaywekhande Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 And how did jadeja and vinay kumar retained their place.
saneindian Posted November 20, 2010 Author Posted November 20, 2010 Dhawan is the most surprising omission from ODIs, has been among runs in domestic cricket recently. Perhaps once Gambhir and Raina get rested after the first 2 ODIs, Dhawan will comeback. Picking Sreesanth for ODIs is a joke. He is not an ODI bowler. Hope he can prove this notion wrong and do well. With Nehra missing, our ODI attack will be PK, Munaf, Sree/Vinay, Ashwin, Yusuf. Not too long ago we had 3 left armers playing for us (Zak, Nerha, RPS) and now there is none! On the test team, In Yadav and Unadkat we have got two rookie backup bowlers for a test series in SA. Reminds me of the 1996 SA tour. Dodda Ganesh and David Jhonson went there as rookie backups and we sorely missed a 3rd seamer back then. In 2006 we had VRV and Munaf again relatively inexperienced. Perhaps someone with a little more experience (like Munaf or PK) could have been considered. But overall a very good team.
King Tendulkar Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Picking yadav is good move. He has serious pace and is strong No Nehra is good move. Sree for odis is gamble to say the least. Maybe they want him to get more games under his belt to be tip top for SA tests. Saha is intersting, good move as need to look at keeper options. Good squads overall, no real howlers imo and some intersting players in odis to see how good they are
Raghav_12 Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 As I remember, Umesh Yadav have not done well enough in the opportunities given to him, but then these opportunities have been very limited. So really I can't comment on that. I myself would have been more comfortable with a Munaf or Praveen Kumar. In either case these two, like Yadav and Udankat, would have been asked to provide support to main seamers and for that job some experience would have come handy..
kabira Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Sudip Tyagi was impressive, and he has experience now, this is 3rd or 4th season... He should be persisted with.
Ram Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Dhoni is such a fool! Apparently, he set up this elaborate scheme to eliminate all competition to his wicket-keeping spot by forcing BCCI to not include any other keeper in the central contracts list, only to undermine his own plan by resting for the ODI series that follows immediately and allowing the selection of a back-up keeper for the test series that follows after that! :hysterical:
youngindia Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 the selectors are wasting their time putting too many youngsters who are unlikely to excel on the big occasions and also not briging back uthappa. uthappa is one person who has to be back for the shorter forms.
IKnowU Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 WTF is YUsuf Pathan doing? :banghead: dumbass bcci babu's. Wouldnt Uthappa be a much better upgrade over Saha? Umesh Yadav, meh hasnt really outshined anyone to fully deserve his spot but it will pass.

They are like the Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly of India - they feel it with their gut, it feels right and good to say that Dhoni is a politician in the team. Facts that back them up are not required :headshake: Its the No Fact Zone. I am only slightly confused about why it feels right that this master politician is a puppet in Sachin's hands when it comes to the UDRS. But I'm quite sure that when achilles digs deeper in to his guts using his head through the rear, he can find the evidence and inform the general public. And I understand it is quite difficult to not take advantage of great cricket connoisseurs like fineleg who are ready to believe anything as long as it defames Sachin, and so achilles has to come up with these conspiracy theories to keep his popularity amongst these geniuses whose collective IQ has now reached the great peak of 75 after years of struggle.

The Dark Horse Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Sreesanth in ODIs is really like WTF Nehra could have been included(may be he's injured?) And they're going back to Yusuf:hmmm:- worth a try before the world cup. Rest of the team is fine, and DK should consider himself unlucky.
