Wts up with the double standard? Anyway am very glad that Dravid is back in form before the SA series, we needed an inform Dravid down under
fineleg Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I've been a great fan of Sachin's cautious innings (even the 200 in Aus when he eschewed the cover drive). I dont criticize SRT for being cautious in Tests. I am a fan of cautious approach in Tests to score massive 100, esp when run rate is not critical in current situation. Get a big total, and that will put pressure on opposition even if the team total takes an extra 40-50 overs than usual. Thats why when ppl were upset Ganguly did not declare on 2nd day end at Sydney, I was supportive of him pushing it past 700. I like slow&steady, cautious, big totals in Tests even if 1st Inn needs to extend a bit beyond 2nd day.

Tendulkar would have been seriously abused for a similar innings. However, Dravid deserves an applause for the innings. He was out of form when he walked in, worked hard with limitless patience and found his way to form. It was particularly different given the way Sehwag was batting at the other end, but Dravid was focused and never allowed anything get in the way. What a man!!
