"England Have Nothing to Fear In Brisbane" : Geoffrey Boycott

Sensational timing from Boycott  Geoff, what type of flavored pie do you prefer ?

The first question is from Greg in Australia, who says that England have good reason to be optimistic about their chances so far, given how their preparations have gone, but Australia have some concerns, most notably an injury to Michael Clarke that could rule him out of the first Test. Ahead of that Test, if you had to take a punt, what would it be and why? Geoffrey Boycott: Traditionally England have struggled at Brisbane during the Ashes, and we were thinking a few months ago that it was important that England don't lose the first Test there. Yes, you should go in wanting to win every match. You don't want to go in with a defensive or negative mindset. But we were thinking that if they didn't lose the Test it would be a plus, because once the Aussies get on top of you and are on a roll, then they are insufferable, aren't they? But now I don't think England have anything to fear. I think England really fancy their chances with Australia having so many problems. Mitchell Johnson has been injured, they are not sure about the spinners - they have Steven Smith in, who has talent but it will not keep you awake at night. You have Michael Clarke's injury, Simon Katich has been injured, and they haven't been making too many runs either. They seem to have a lot of problems, which is quite unusual for Australia, particularly playing at home.

English logic is weird they think they will win because opposition become worse rather than they becoming better. Naseer Hussain also told the same when asked "do you think England have batting firepower to put Aussies under pressure". His response was "there is no Hayden, Steve Waugh and Gilli coming out to bat for Aussies".

With hindsight it is easy to make fun. What he is saying is factually correct. Aussies have been a declining force over the last couple of years. For all you know a similar 3 ball performance by one of the English bowlers and the game can change.

Why are you both inciting eachother? Take you problems with eachother private. I am warning you both from derailing this thread.
