maniac Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Ugly - Srikanth, Miandad, Salim Malik, Ranatunga, Aravinda (between deliveries, the way he used to keep that bat on his shoulder like a gadha used to be a horrible site for me) I don't agree with Aravinda and Kris Srikkanth on the list. Both were breathtaking when in full flow
maniac Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Shane Watson is also pretty ugly, just a front foot biffer in my eyes, not elegance. :two_thumbs_up:
vaibhav_delhi Posted November 26, 2010 Author Posted November 26, 2010 And you've just missed that I've categorized Chanders as ugly earlier. yea i missed that..my bad...
vaibhav_delhi Posted November 26, 2010 Author Posted November 26, 2010 Adding to the list Ugly:Asanka Gurusinha,Mahanama,Daryly Culinan(Against Spin),Mark Butcher,Nayan Mongia,Ajay Jadeja(Except for 1 or 2 innings),Shastri(Strokeless Wonder),Allan Border(Didn't have the flair for someone who scored so many runs),Atul Bedade,Razaqq(Defence),Siddhu,Damien Martyn(Boring but effective),Mcmillian-both from NZL and SA.Chris Harris,Adam Hollioke,Gambhir(Doesn't have the flair of other teammates),Younis Khan.Stuart Law,Arnold,Ali Brown,Manjrekar(Debatable-Perfect Technique but boring as hell),Ramiz Raja,Shoaib Malik,Misbah,Cronje,Moin Khan,Latif,Ranatunga,Tiwary Stylish;Attapattu,Kambli,Aravinda,Fleming,Pollock(underrated),Alec Stewart,Sehwag,Dravid,Inzimam,Kapil Dev,Kaluwitharana,Ponting,Nick Knight,Jayasuriya(Unique style),Mahela,Sangakkarra,Kris Srikkanth,Vengsarker,Viv Richards,Haynes,Gibbs,Tamim Iqbal,Sherwin Campbell,Gayle,Rohit Sharma wow..that an exhaustive list Cant disagree much apart from Gambhir....I find his a classy bat, enjoy his batting. but I guess its hard not to compare him with his opening partner. One Viru Sehwag.
maniac Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 wow..that an exhaustive list Cant disagree much apart from Gambhir....I find his a classy bat, enjoy his batting. but I guess its hard not to compare him with his opening partner. One Viru Sehwag. When you have Sehwag as your opening partner...followed by RD,SRT,VVS you always tend to look pretty ordinary but what I meant was Gautam is more of a hardworking player than a free flowing player with natural flair.I would rate him miles ahead of someone like Rohit,Yuvi and Raina but their batting style is more attractive to watch than Gautam's.He comes across as more of a Gary Kirsten like player- Hardworking and consistent but not quiet the showman.

He is arguably indias best player of spin.

Andy Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Ugly batting style: Bhajji, M, YK, Twatson, Miandad ( most ugly stance ) Stylish: VVS, Dravid, SRT, UV, Gambhir, VIV Richards I disagree i enjoy watching Bhajji Bat.
jusarrived Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Dilshan is not ugly , agreed hes bit of a wanabe Shewag ...may not be the same talent , but he still falls in to the category of 'hand eye coordination' type batsmen ...very few of them , even fewer who are successful with such technique . I would say , hes as ugly as Shewag .
