King Tendulkar Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 I agree. Bhajji is a **** spinner. So much for this great ashes rivalry. No rivalry imo, more like banter amongst mates. They soon unite in their attacks on the number 1 side in the world, INDIA!!! Nice to serani(england) and sree india(aussie) uniting on the champs!
King Tendulkar Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Danish Kaneria has more wickets than Swann therefore he is a far superior bowler. Last 3 years Bhaji has most wickets for any spinner in world! In last 2 years has second most wickets for any spinner in world cricket. In last year 2nd most wickets in world for any spinner. So dont call him rubbish blood. Be fair to us indians blood

In last year 2nd most wickets in world for any spinner. So dont call him rubbish blood. Be fair to us indians blood In the last 3 years, Harbhajan has bowled 500 more overs than Swann but only picked up 10 more wickets. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?bowling_pacespin=2;class=1;filter=advanced;orderby=wickets;spanmax1=08+Dec+2010;spanmin1=08+Dec+2007;spanval1=span;template=results;type=bowling Harbhajan: 31 matches 1640 overs 132 wickets at 35.48 Swann: 26 matches 1140 overs 122 wickets at 27.23
Ram Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 The fact that a spinner is topping the wicket-taking charts isn’t really surprising. That is not a new trend. Kumble was a power-house in the mid to late 90s, then Warne took over.. Murali asserted his dominance afterwards. But the fact that Swann has been as successful as he has been, at a time when most of his other contemporary spinners are getting clobbered out of shape is what is most remarkable about his rise. Everyone from Bhajji to Vettori to Panesar to Kaneria have seen their career numbers plummet in the last 3-4 years. Swann has somehow managed to buck that trend and that is true testament to his class and quality. His biggest strength is that he’s a finger spinner with wrist-spinner like credentials. He has good control, excellent flight and above all, puts in a lot of work on the ball, which is rare for a finger spinner. So if there’s even a morsel of assistance from the pitch, he will find it.
Serani Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 An average of 35.48, taking a trip down mediocrity lane is poor old harby, 75 strike rate too...

All Swann has to do is hit the tree which is growing on the pitch in england and ts job done. Swann has tragic record in India, could not hack it
King Tendulkar Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 An average of 35.48' date=' taking a trip down mediocrity lane is poor old harby, 75 strike rate too...[/quote'] Average of 35 is still iles better then swanns record in India
King Tendulkar Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Clutching at straws or what. No. We are best team in the world. We are the bench mark. Like before players were judged how they did against aussies and in oz. Now its all about India, Swann has poor record against us.
Serani Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Well as it was Swanns debut series [one of only 2 matches] and before India reached the number 1 ranking your point is basically a steaming pile of bullshit.

Serani Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Yeh Englands batsman* [havent got some super awesome word for them like "galacticos"] will sort out Harby, in fact he doesnt need to be sorted out, he is already sorted out, KP switch hit his darts for 6 last time they met, what a shyte hound!

Yeah only get such titles when you are number 1 test team for over a year like we did. I mean when you have not beaten us for over 14 years in a test series its laughable at the arrogance:hysterical: Where you born when england last won a test series against India?
Serani Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 I guess when a comfortable series victory is achieved England will be acknowledged as the worlds best team, especially after our 2 recent WC wins.
mastana Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Anyone can take wickets against Australia now. Whats so special about Swann? :dontknow: Let him take wickets against India and Sri Lanka first.
King Tendulkar Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 I guess when a comfortable series victory is achieved England will be acknowledged as the worlds best team' date=' especially after our 2 recent WC wins.[/quote'] 2 recent wc wins? your not including womens cricket are you?
King Tendulkar Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 I guess when a comfortable series victory is achieved England will be acknowledged as the worlds best team' date=' especially after our 2 recent WC wins.[/quote'] Anyway you need to get to number 1. So no doubts after we win in SA then against England we will have cemented our number 1 position for a good few years
mastana Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 2 recent wc wins? your not including womens cricket are you? :hmmm: Did England win FIFA world cup?

DSR - you gotta admit this is serious pwnage for bhajji. If anything, like you say, Indian batsmen are good players of spin, and bhajji does not have to get their wickets. Even then Bhajji has only been able to do this - his batting saves him more often in recent times.
