the_indian_fan Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 gambhir should replace dhoni as the indian captain immediately when gambhir captains, even the team wins(like delhi winning ranji trophy after 16 years, india winning 5-0 comfortably here ), but even he himself is in a smashing form. made 330 runs in this odi series & was in smashing form in the ranjis as well in the 2007/08 season yusuf pathan was always treated unfairly by dhoni, but gambhir is giving him 8-10 overs every match, which has resulted in yusuf pathan taking 5 wickets over his last 2 odis & also sent him higher in the order this time, allowing him to hit a match winning 100 gambhir has also backed out of form & struggling players, and unlike the previous captains, doesnt seem to have any favourite players. dhoni had jadeja & rohit sharma as his favs. gambhir has none also the pressure on dhoni has to be reduced. he is a key batsman for us & also his wicket-keeping is crucial. reducing the load of captaincy from him will be a good idea. that way we can even see him bowl a few overs if required if the selectors have any sense, gambhir should be made the permanent captain of india

Sachin=GOD Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 'Stylish' R. Sharma played under everyone..he seems to be everyone's favourite for reasons Scientists are still investigating.. reason is that he's probably the most talented youngster in Indian cricket right now but he's not consistent enough. If he can play well consistently then I believe he can be a very, very good player and can come into both the ODI and Test teams.

rahulrulezz Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Dhoni is a great captain..Better than Gambhir..As proven in IPL where Gambhir cudnt even lead DD to Semi finals.. though have to say.. Gambhir doesnt have favorite players and is not a stuck up guy like Dhoni who jus wanna prove the world that he is always right... in the case of Dhoni who keep on picking up Jadeja for god knows what...
fineleg Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Welcome back @M!7$ We shall make Gambhir the captain, Sehwag vicecaptain, Manoj Prabhakar the coach, and Amit Mishra the spin-spearhead, Ishant the pace-spearhead and Shikhar Dhawan to replace Dravid Any other changes? :icflove: Can we also get Rohit Sharma to replace Tendulkar :bubblegum:
maniac Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Gambhir is a good backup but for now Dhoni all the way....At least we won't be in a panic mode if we suddenly find Dhoni not being able to justify his presence in the squad... Gambhir is definitely a better choice than Sehwag for vice-captaincy
gsivak Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Are we going to take a leaf out of Pakistan's book and chuck captain's for no fault of theirs?

Roshanrocks Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 m still amazed vaibhav delhi hasnt yet posted here Dhoni cannot be replaced from the indian captaincy before the world cup... his achievements as captain has been amazing..... but ya its good to open this thread n keep bumpin it whenever we lose a game
the_indian_fan Posted December 13, 2010 Author Posted December 13, 2010 the dhoni worshippers out here havent brought out any reason why dhoni is better than gambhir in captaincy dhoni is a bit like ponting(regarding win/loss records) in captaincy. his win/loss record is good only because he has had legends like sehwag, tendulkar, dravid, laxman in the xi. dhoni cant utilize the younger players and get the best of them. also dhoni has his own personal favs & would even fight with the selectors to have them included gambhir, on the other hand, took us to a comfortable 5-0 win the 1st ever time he captained. and he didnt even have the services of sehwag, tendulkar, dhoni & harbhajan throughout the series. and gambhir does not have any personal favs. he was even able to utilize yusuf pathan well, something which dhoni has been found to be very uncapable of. yusuf pathan took 8 wickets@16.75 and even hit a match winning 123* off 96 balls in the odi series. it should be noted that dhoni always under-utilized yusuf pathan(due to having his personal favs) & could never get 100% from him, something which a smarter captain like gambhir did easily another thing is that in captains, irrespective of how effective part-time bowlers/all-rounders they might be, they tend to severely underbowl themselves while captaining. a big example being ganguly, who was almost a all-rounder under azharuddin & even bowled us to a 4-1 win in the sahara cup 1997 taking 15 wickets. but when ganguly became captain, he rarely bowled. steve waugh of australia was another similar example. even chris gayle tended to underbowl himself when he was the captain dhoni, despite being capable of bowling at 130-135 kph & also of producing a bit of reverse swing, has severely underbowled himself as he is the captain. despite being highly impressive whenever he has bowled, he has bowled a grand total of 1 over, yes ONE over in international cricket this year. something which a player with a bowling avg of 14 in odis & 18 in list a cricket shouldnt have done. if someone else other than dhoni had been the captain, we could have seen dhoni bowl a lot more. this is where a smarter captain like gambhir comes into the picture as he can get the best out of dhoni even in bowling. dhoni, can even bowl 2-3 overs when required. and maybe we could see dhoni winning us a few matches with his bowling also the gap between dhoni & gambhir in captaincy can be easily shown by this. in the recent tri-series in sl, dhoni, with a similar team, got thrashed by 200 runs from this nz team, whereas under gambhir, the same team thrashed nz comfortably 5-0 with gambhir himself being in smashing form hitting 2 back to back 100s only a blind worshipper of dhoni would rate dhoni better than gambhir in captaincy

Completely agree with you again.........Dhoni should bowl more, even if he's the only Wicket Keeper in the team, he should hand over the keeping gloves to somebody like Sachin or maybe Viru or Gambjhir or Nehra (or we can have a specialist keeper like KKD or Papa in the team at all times so that Dhoni can utilize his bowling skills more.) :hysterical::hysterical: I am not a fan of Dhoni but when i see such posts I really see why commonsense is so uncommon in India. :giggle:
don_corleone840 Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 what a stupid post. :hysterical::hysterical:
the_indian_fan Posted March 12, 2011 Author Posted March 12, 2011 i had said this earlier, but this forum, being full of blind worshippers of dhoni, laughed me off here todays match clearly shows that dhoni should be kicked out of captaincy & someone like gambhir be made the captain. a 5-0 record as captain says it all if the selectors have any sense, then dhoni should be removed as captain immediately
hari504504 Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 I don't like Dhobi one bit either..overrated IMO in a team full of matchwinning batsmen..
