hari504504 Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Given that the selectors made the cardinal mistake of sending two rookies to SA.. and understanding why Umesh was chosen for the pace...any idea why is everyone on the Unadkat bandwagon when Netrawalkar was clearly the better bowler in the same U-19 WC ?
rkt.india Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 netravalkar was 115-123k bowler in that WC...didnt even played ranji..unadkat bowled up to 139 ks in U19 WC
Sooda Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Not to mention Unads A tour of Eng, that 13 wkt haul vs WI A is pretty much the reason why he has made the test team
hari504504 Posted December 18, 2010 Author Posted December 18, 2010 Ok. But what happened to Netravalkar ? - his cricinfo profile has no domestic stats..he isn't playing for any state in the Ranjis ? ...he looked mighty impressive with his swing in the U-19..

Sooda Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 He is Mumbaiite right? Fair few pacemen ahead of him in the pecking order I imagine

rkt.india Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 why ? he isnt that gud to play ahead of others
saneindian Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Netravalkar is currently playing under-19 cricket for Mumbai. Played in the Vinoo Mankad trophy recently. Still developing as a bowler. Watched him on Neo last year in the corporate trophy. Was bowling around 125-128 kmph. Needs to pick up his speed.
maniac Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 This is the mistake we keep doing....Just throwing in random bowlers and hope they stick....Might end up with another name in the long list of tundlers we have produced. Unadkat atleast played some A-team games,We have a decent domestic structure and strong list of Domestic bullies when it comes to batsman.Let us pick fast bowlers who have done decently in domestics against them rather than just throw in random novelties.

Sooda Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 ^ No, there is a huge difference. Key being that Pujara has had a good 4 or 5 seasons in domestic cricket to go with a few A tours. He has proved he is ready for test cricket. Unlike Unadkat who has barely played any FC cricket.
