Guest Gunner Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I will happily delete this thread if lunatics comparing Sobers' bowling to Tendulkar delete their posts. Link please :--D

yoda Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Like most of our comparison threads, one has to read about 20 posts to even understand the purpose of the thread. :--D Suggestion to those who plan to open such threads in the future. Please add a "PS" section and add a one-liner as to why this thread is being created. For this one, it would say: PS: Since there is claim that Tendulkar's bowling is comparable to that of Sobers (see link ....), let's see if he could have been better than Marshall. :icflove:

fineleg Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Better bowler was Gautam Warne Gambhir with his legspin! (Sorry, I did not read the entire thread, just read the OP, I know this must be a retaliation thread by prof, but dont know against which post/thread).
Rajiv Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Seriously can we stop this. Nowonder why other forums n people make fun of ICF and Indian fans To make fun of us, they might come here to check it out so thats a good thing. If you discuss, post or read such "other" forums, perhaps it would be a great service to your Indian countrymen is to let them know that those who live in Bomb Shelters - shouldn't be playing with grenades - On a Side Note, don't give a flying fark what other forums think - http://www.indiancricketfans.com/announcement.php?f=8&a=17

Bumper Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I think Bradman is a better bowler than both, because: 1) Bowling in the 1940s when the cricketing era was super competitive was always gonna be difficult. 2) Imagine bowling in an era where the top batsman (which is Bradman himself) averaged 99 - scaaaryy! 3) One word: Bodyline.. Dont ask me why, i dont know. Every time we discuss 1940s, people utter this one word, as if this explains everything. 4) Imagine bowling with those appalling fielders to support you. It couldnt get more challenging than that. 5) Video clips show that all batsmen of the 40s looked like nincompoops playing even the most elegant of cover drives. In no other era, bowlers made batsmen look so ugly. 6) One could argue that Bradman the bowler, never bowled to Bradman the batsman. But this is more of a myth than truth. Since the fastest bowlers of the 40s bowled at 2 miles per hour, many times Bradman bowled to himself & then quickly padded up, wore his gear & was at the other end in no time to promptly hit the ball for a boundary. And what more, historians of the 40s wrote in London times that Bradman is the greatest of the 12 cricketers they've seen. Thats good enough for me.

Literally half of the front page is full of SRT threads... For me, SRT is a god but that doesn't mean I have kick down Ponting, Lara, Kallis, Marshall just to prove that SRT is the best...

Everyone is teared down mind you to prop up that one player. Sometimes it is all these greats from other countries that are ridiculed and if you dare bringing up a Laxman or a Dravid to prove that they are as valuable as Tendulkar then it will their turn to face the humiliation. It never ends though some of these threads often times makes for a good laugh I confess.

May be if a couple of a dozen of them leave and stick to the other forums as you are suggesting here perhaps you will then give more than a sH!T I suppose.
Rajiv Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 ^^ There is ignore feature, you can simply turn a blind eye to those threads
