Just as you were saying Sobers batting is comparable to Baasu ... I mean here we are talking about someone who has run down nearly 70% of Sobers FC ( minus Test Cricket ) numbers just thru his Testmatch Record and in all likelihood will get to about atleast 85 % of the 20K runs that sobers made ( in domestic FC matches ) by the time he retires ... And I wont even talk about the friggin ODIs out of pity or the Multiplication factor that will be needed to compare Sobers to Baasu in Test matches .... Comparable my butt ... :hysterical:
So you're saying Sobers is a joke of a batsman compared to Tendulkar, just like Tendulkar is a joke of a bowler compared to Sobers?

Tendulkar has played 175 tests so far, while Sobers played in 93, so did you expect Sobers to score as many runs as Tendulkar has in only 93 tests :giggle:

Hardly. I think I know a wee bit about how hard it is to get test wickets (and Sir Garry had plenty ) but I dont think you realize how hard it is to make so many runs as Baasu against truly exceptional bowling that we have had the pleasure to witness live over the last 20+ yrs. 32K Intl runs is a trainload of runs . Very good cricketers will be very happy to make that many in domestic FC careers.
So, how would you rate Sobers and Tendulkar in batting and bowling on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the pinnacle of the respective fields. My rankings would be : Batting Tendulkar : 9 Sobers : 8.5 Bowling Tendulkar : 2 Sobers : 6.5

Yes, we all know how hard it is to bat on flat pitches :giggle:

Batting Tendulkar : 9.9 Sobers : 6
Bossbhai... why such a low rating for Sobers who has an average of almost 58? 6 is like just above average. :hmmm:

He said Tendulkar as a bowler can be compared to Sobers. .
Where did he do that? Did not see him saying Sachin was better bowler then Sobers. Please post exact post you are referring to for further analysis. As only then can the merits of this thread be fully evaluated

The Huzoor ( :hail: ) is miffed at the mention of Baasu's bowling skills in a thread about who is the greatest cricketer. I mean how dare I do that ... afterall the nearly 200 Intl wkts were all Deepavali gifts werent they ? anyhow heres the post : http://indiancricketfans.com/showpost.php?p=1257243&postcount=57
But in that post you provided. You acknowledge Sobers is a better bowler then Sachin and there is gap between the two in this dept. Baffling thread this:dontknow:

yo idiot if you read that post and most importantly understood it ( for which you would first have to surgically extract your head out of your butt ) you will find that I used Garrys FC record which will be more or less overhauled by SRT in TEST Matches and that too in far lesser inngs. BTW Garry played 90 odd List A matches aswell with a grand total of 1 century :hysterical::hysterical:
Thanks for making my day as that comparision is even more idiotic than I imagined! :hysterical: So what's your next step ----> to show us that the list A games that GS played in his motivation level was comparable to that when he played in tests :giggle: PS So now list A avg matter too :spiteful: .... Conversely if someone has a better FC record than Tendulkar, then he should be better than him, right? :P Case closed

1. Performance against the best team of his time 2. Diff between Home and Away Avgs 3. Quality of Bowlers overall 4. Tendulkar getting closer to Sobers FC stats thru Test Match numbers alone in far lesser inngs.
^ this guy needs to see a shrink :hysterical:
