AFAIK, the Durban wicket has a lot of movement due to humidity and crosswinds from the Indian ocean nearby. Because Sachin is part of the selection process and as a proof MSD eluded to it various times that the seniors are consulted before deciding on the XI. Unless Gambhir or Ishant Sharma are the seniors he is referring to I have reasons to believe what I do and am I am justified in that. Plus HS playing as an automatic in the XI when one spinner is played gives credence to my beliefs. And besides there is nothing wrong if Tendulkar has such confidence in HS and recommends him in the XI to MSD. It is just that majority may not look at it the same way and we all know why Tendulkar led teams never won much. More recently we have seen how MSD outwitted him in the IPL finals.

This is ridiculous...Seniors shouldn't have any official input into selections..they should exclusively be handled by the captain,vice captain,coach and a representative from the selectors... It is another thing if the captain seeks personal guidance from them.

Durban is one of the fastest pitches in the world.. after our day 1 collapse in Wanderers I think the curators will leave a mini savannah on the surface which will last for 5 days (or 3..can be an early finish)
