Any different from what the resident Bradman bhaktagan(of which you are the head honcho) does when anyone disputes some aspects of DGBs batting?
LOL! What has this thread got to do with Bradman? And for the record, where have I asked for a shutdown on threads or called topics inappropriate or not worthy of discussion if someone has criticized any aspect of Bradman's batting?

It didn't start off like that' date=' did it? You admitted it [b']started off as a lighthearted Laxman appreciation thread. If anything it was complimentary to Tendulkar because what is considered one of Laxman's strongest suite as a batsman was being compared to Tendulkar. It was only when the 'How dare someone compare anyone to Sachin' brigade entered the thread that it went downhill. I asked you this earlier as well - is saying Hobbs was a better player on sticky wickets a pull down on Bradman?
exactly .

BB, you are making no sense. Perhaps someone whom you consider more 'neutral' can explain why. Anyhow, it's best not to derail the thread into a Bradman, Sobers argument which have absolutely nothing to do with this thread.

If SRT fans ganging up is a epidemic then likewise DGB fans ganging up is a epidemic too. It just depends on which side of the fence you are to proclaim who has the moral highground.
I thought this thread was about Laxman and 5/6 ICFers have voted in favor of him here. So where did DGB fans come into picture? Are you saying all 80% of those are DGB fans? There is only one side here. The SRT Fanatics who won't let any thread which doesn't accept him as Supremo Uno in any category to continue. More like the Ganguly crowd from the predecessor site, except without unilateral moderation powers. :winky:

The thread was going fine and in the vein it was started till : http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showpost.php?p=1265522&postcount=15 http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showpost.php?p=1266699&postcount=26 http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showpost.php?p=1267098&postcount=39 over zealous Tendulkar fans entered the thread to 'defend his honor' like the Rajputs. In the middle there were some irritating response from others as well which took the thread downhill, like : http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showpost.php?p=1266686&postcount=24 The problem is not just this thread. It's an epidemic on ICF - criticize Tendulkar on any aspect, compare any aspect of cricket of any cricketer with Tendulkar - and there is this vocal, fanatical minority which descends on to you. It's not limited to ICF. It's the trend of the modern Indian media who have taken it upon themselves to rewrite history in order to shore up their inferiority complex. 'How dare anyone compare anyone to Sachin? We'll show them. '
You find the OP in the thread a pull down on Tendulkar? All with phrases like, 'Laxman is the new Goddy' and smileys? If anything it's a lighthearted appreciation thread for Laxman comparing one aspect of his batting to the person who is considered the best modern batsman by many. Hobbs is said to have a been a better batsman on sticky wickets than Bradman by many writers. Would that be considered a pull down on Bradman by any expect the most fanatical of his fans?
Thanks for understanding brother, I was getting killed by "Sachin fanatics."

So essentially what you are saying is what people say here (or answer via a ICF poll) is meaningless unless they agree with your POV. Bet the poll would have been totally ok if the results had been the other way around. :winky:
I did not say anything, its your speculation about what I might have been thinking. I just posted one link, which was more informative then the post I responded to - "59:11!!"

Not really. A post which recaps the polling data in a thread which has substantial data to back up the majority opinion including an externally linked article which corroborates the polling data vs a generic wikipedia link. :winky: It is all about context.

I just reponded to a post talking about personal records and stuff. the post in question was nothing to do with any comparison or praising Laxman. In the poll I voted for Laxman. When Bradman's status is questioned even the most respected ex-players, critics foam at their mouth, such is their passion for him. It would be a shame if fans of Sachin are not allowed to show similar support for their own countryman As for BB's post, he was making an argument for why people shpuld vote for Sachin over Laxman with data. I believe thats still allowed even though the player in question in Sachin? Or just to prove oneself neutral and a non-Sachin fan should everyone automatically just vote for whoever is in the opposition?

Wasim Akram's lavish praise of VVS Laxman after those Durban knocks and India's win. -- Akram also hailed man-of-the-match VVS Laxman's contribution and said the stylish Hyderabadi batsman showed why he is India's best bet on foreign soil with his match-winning knocks of 38 and 96 in Durban. "Laxman is certainly a class apart. Players like Rahul Dravid and Laxman have the perfect mix of experience, consistency and talent," he said. "Laxman has also got an amazing temperament. And the best part is that he performs when it matters. His track record reveals he always scores when the team is in trouble," he added. With India languishing at 148 for seven, Laxman stitched a vital 70-run eighth-wicket stand with Zaheer in the second innings to help the visitors set a challenging target of 303 runs. "Not only can he (Laxman) play well in the middle-order but also sticks it out with the tail-enders. He is at the prime of his batting. According to me, Laxman certainly falls in the list of top four batsmen in the world," Akram said. http://cricketnext.in.com/news/india-are-no-longer-oneman-team-akram/52865-13.html

We have a couple of immature mods. What else can I say. The guy comes and posts some utter non sense and then you reply and he or his "buddy" warns you? :giggle: And one of them even called you a Bastard. :((
Reminds me of **. I wrote a thing about how idiotic something was about Inzamam, when he was being compared with Tendulkar and I started receiving warning messages from the mod team. That's when I said to myself, I can't last here longer so might as well drive them all crazy and in one or two hours they banned me. It was some kind of a provisional ban where you can only communicate with the mod team. They probably expected that I would plead to revoke my ban but they were in for a big surprise :hysterical: And that was all for Tendulkar and here it would be too for Tendulkar, I guess :P

May be the belligerent comedy brigade (if they are true worshipers of SRT) should go to ** and cry their hearts out there as iirc that place ridicules Tendulkar a lot than complain about fellow Indians who don't agree with the fanatics :icflove:
