Instead of always bringing in Sachin or Rahul into this and make it a who is the better contest and what not there are certain unique characteristics that define the phenom called Venkat Sai Laxman and thriving under pressure when most of the top order fails on occasions and when the team needs someone to put their hand up and be counted more often than not it is this man who appears to gets into a zone and look so focused that nothing seems to get the better of him the likes of which are perhaps never been witnessed in cricket on this consistent a basis. That is what makes him a VVS - Very Very Special and a great great Test batsman without a doubt.

Why do we need to make comparisions amongst our own team mates? Everyone has a role to play in the side. And talking of pressure, 1st test 2nd innings where VVS failed, it was Sachin who scored a great 100. True it was a very tough ask and I know of some Sachin bashers who call it a 100 in the lost cause. But had some of our other batters supported him like Dhoni, we could have made a match of it. IT's upto you and your perspectives. But its a team game and Sachin has also carried the mantle when VVS had failed.
