Time for some conspiracy theories. Smith feels threatened by Botha's presence in the team as Botha is seen as the next leader of SA (is already leading the t20 team despite Smith still playing t20s). Smith is therefore trying to limit the opportunities given to Botha :--D

well i am not surprised with his selection as smith often says ''he's part of our team since 2/3 years and is doing decent job for us'' but smith has forgotten that herris is brainless bowler as somme of u must have noticed that he was firing ball and getting no extra bounce much while harbhajan was flighting most deliveries and was more useful than harris and to the topic Bitha is too good a bowler in ODI's & T20's and also in Tests he can prove himself if he gets chance as he bowls with a lot of accuracy and he has got brain while bowling and not threaten to flight the ball even if goes for couple of sixes.

please SA play Botha in place of Harris

I think SA uses Harris over Botha because: 1. There is a bunch of right handers in our line up 2. Harris can be more useful to stop the flow of runs by bowling a negative line. 3. Styen and Morkel bowl a lot for SA so they are also creating some rough for Harris The perceived difference in quality b/w Botha and Harris is not much in SA management's opinion. And if that's the case then considering the 3 points above, for them playing Harris would make more sense unless he is terribly out of form My 2 cents!

One point: Botha depends on his elbow for wickets, Harris doesnt.
