This is sad but true I wont generalize it exactly as hatred. There are certain common personality traits - that are difficult to miss in people from a certain region. It is kind of natural for people to make note of those, some people take a minor leap - and make light-hearted fun/remarks of those traits that 'sound' weird/alien to them. Some people can take the joke on them.. and some people become sentimental and want to argue against. It is only few people, who take it to the next level - hatred . And there is hardly anyone can do about it, except for keeping the right company and educating their own future generation.

This is one of the big advantages of India is that the country is so fragmented that overall it leads to unity. The biggest communal problems in India is Hindu-Muslim and caste. The urban North/South Indians generally get along fine and even if they have issues, they dont have street brawls over it. :two_thumbs_up:

This thread has gone from the light-hearted banter it is was meant to be, to some really unpleasant exchanges (partly fueled by some sporadic comments from northie folks, but MOSTLY propelled by the usual knee-jerk overreactions by some southie folks..). Its probably time to put this one in the refrigerator and let it cool for a while.
