Cook - 5000 Runs at Age 26 - how much more can he get

So Cook gets 6000 runs in his 75th match and apparently it is quicker than Sachin. Just can't believe Sachin averaged less than 50 in 75 matches. Anyone knows in which test did he score his 6000th run and how much did he average then? Also can anyone post Cook and Sachin's 1000 by 1000 record?

+1. completely agree cook is a top class test batsmen, he had a bad series against pakistan, but i have no doubt he`ll score a couple of tons vs india at the year end like he did in 2006

He can finish with more than Sachin(considering the amount of test cricket they play) but he'll be averaging very less, less than 50 for sure.

Here is how I got: (I hope there is shorter path to get the required listing.) For a given player.. go to player profile.. from the drop down under "career statistics".. select the innings list ( for ODI/test)...you will get the innings wise listing for the player.. on top right, you should see "return to query menu".. go there and check the "cumulative averages"..and submit query.

Don't rate him too highly, scored tons of runs against mediocre Oz and Indian bowling. Probably will break plenty of records though, since he will probably play 200 tests considering his age and the number of tests England play every year.

Cook has big advantage of playing for England which guarantees him at least 12-15 test matches in a year. Also he is one batsman who will make you pay for dropped or missed chances the most. Compare it to SRT he was playing over 30 ODIs/yr right through 90s (at his peak) but less than 7 test /yr. In fact in early 90s India played less than 20 test matches in 4 yrs.
