flamy Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Everyone gangs up on Sree. loudapanti. Very disappointed with Dhoni.
CG Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Did steve waugh asked mcgrath why he dragged sarwans wife in to cricket,Dhoni is a pussy and he will pay for it after india lose the worldcup he should get sacked. If dravid or tendulkar or kumble were captain they could ahve supported him remember how dravid supported him in england where situation was much worse.I wish somebody mentions his wife when he comes to bat.
Bradman99 Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Aw waa waa not 10% of his match fee, he must really be in a financially unstable position now.
gaurav92 Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Its not about the financial stability of players, its about the double standards that the referees are keeping these days.
Raghav_12 Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Is everybody is going by the report which rediif published? or anybody saw something on TV where Dhoni was giving public dressing down to Sreesanth. I didn't watch match live yesterday so no sure if something happened on field yesterday. All I know is a press conference where Dhoni made some comment on Sree. Nothing more than that. I eventually got to see the highlights of day's play and saw mid-pitch dressing down that Dhoni gave to Sree. It was really disgusting from Dhoni to treat a player like that. If he wanted to make a point or two to Sree, he should have done that after match is over or atleast day's play is over. I agree with KT that after that discussion Sreesanth wasn't same bowler again. Really poor of Dhoni. I think this issue will not go down that easily and will come back to bite Dhoni.
Bradman99 Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 "I told him before this match (at Durban), if you take six-seven minutes to bowl an over, it will be difficult to pick you in the side. I asked him to finish his overs quickly. As a captain, you need to always have him under control. It is good for everyone, not only for him, for our team, for the opposition, umpires and spectators," Dhoni said. I don't think that's the type of thing a captain should be saying about one of his players.

Damn True also what wrong sreesanth has done?australians or southafricans or english players do much more and get away.

saneindian Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Ofcource you are proud Indian' date=' Sreesanth.. Don't let apologists like M down your spirits...[/quote'] How's abusing a top class umpire like Simon Taufel by sayng f*** off man, thats a F*** up etc when the appeals are rejected (perfectly correct decisions), a correct way of expressing your patriotism. As long as abuses and sledges are directed at players, it's fine, but why direct your anger towards the umpire? I am all for aggression, but yesterday Sree got it completely wrong. Am disappointed with MSD as well. Could have handled this better.
Desi Cartman Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Dont remeber him being reprimanded publicly and getting dressing downs exactly , he was a nut case and never kept quite either.
The Realist Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Its disgusting. You have transexuals like Broad who throw hissy fit after hissy fit yet get way with it just because their corrupt dad services the ICC board. Outraged.
gs Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Feel for Sreesanth here. First Smith, then Dhoni and now this - he has not done himself any favors with his behavior though.
Fontaine Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Why is this such a big deal? Last year whenever the bowlers tried hard Dhoni routinely praised them in ODIs and Tests at times defending them when the results weren't there. Now Dhoni has asked Sree to tone it down privately and publicly said he needs to get through his overs quicker than 6-7 minutes people are ready to crucify the captain? Get over it. Here's a little newsflash, bowling coaches from Donald, opposition players to match referees have publicly questioned Sree's work ethic, practice habits, fined him for slegding and warned him publicly but NOW all of sudden when Dhoni asks him to go through his overs quickly Dhoni has committed some crime? Maybe Sreesanth should grow up and act maturely on the field. But then again people have been saying that for years. No wonder nobody in the team likes this crybaby.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Why is this such a big deal? . its a big deal cos sree was bowling well and looked like getting kallis out, that is until dhoni pulled him aside and started talking to him...last thing u wanna do when ur bowler is looking like getting a wicket is tell him to calm down. especially when series is on the line point is u never wash ur dirty linen in public. also, what do u make of dhoni's quote about how controlling sreesanth is 'good for us, good for the opposition, good for the spectators'
Manny_Pacquiao Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 BTW, dale steyn talks to the batsman almost EVERY SINGLE TIME he beats the bat. how is his behaviour ANY different form what sreesanth does? edit: dale steyn just mouthed off THREE TIMES in an over to gautam gambhir when he is on 48. not a word from the umpire. i have no problem with bowlers talking to the batsmen. but when sree does the same, its a fkn outrage. umpires immediately get their panties in a twist and start warning him. wtf is all that about.
flamy Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 ^ I pointed this out earlier too. When Gauti went and consulted the umpire, Ian Gould replied he is not a policeman, and then whenever Sree bowls, even if he was just having a small chat with the batters (1st innings), he would interfere.
Fontaine Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 its a big deal cos sree was bowling well and looked like getting kallis out, that is until dhoni pulled him aside and started talking to him...last thing u wanna do when ur bowler is looking like getting a wicket is tell him to calm down. especially when series is on the line Now you're just making things up. Sree has been up and down all his career including this tour. He was bowling well, then his two close appeals turned down and he lost it and the crowd really started to taunt him. Then he lost his bowling altogether. Same as the 1st innings when he himself admitted to being lazy in starting off his first spell with the new ball. I suppose that's Dhoni's fault too? point is u never wash ur dirty linen in public. Yeah, I can agree with that. But it wasn't telling secrets or saying anything controversial. Anyone who saw the match, opposition players, umps and pretty much everyone knows Sree needs to stop wasting so much time in getting through his overs. Dhoni isn't the first or last person to say it. also, what do u make of dhoni's quote about how controlling sreesanth is 'good for us, good for the opposition, good for the spectators' When Sree was bowling really well he was steaming in, giving the odd stare to the batsmen and saying a few quick words and then walking back to his mark purposefully. NOT when he was having verbal confrontations with the crowd, umps, and opposition players. THAT'S what Sree needs to keep on doing. There's nothing wrong with saying things with to the batsmen, giving them the stare etc when you're bowling well. The problem is when Sree doesn't bowl well, he still does those things and wastes too much time going through his overs. How the hell does that help the team? Instead, guys like SRT/Khan have to continiously almost babysit the guy to get him to calm down and get him to focus on bowling, the plan etc.

It's about not crossing the line. Zaheer also talks to the batsmen a lot of the times but he doesn't cross the line like Steyn. The problem with Sree is that he DOES cross the line. He's done it in the past plenty of times, cursing at batsmen in domestic cricket to get official warnings, saying personal abuse etc. For better or for worse, players have a reputation that they are responsible for. Sree is responsible for his childish, immature reputation and that's no ones fault but his own. In the past players like Bhajji/Gambhir etc have gotten into confrontations with other players but they've been isolated incidents and the team/staff/BCCI has supported these guys completely. That's not the case with Sree because it is his fault, he is childish and immature, not well liked and nowhere near talented to get away with this crap.
