The Outsider Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 This thread is about Dhoni's captaincy. Request to fan boys of Ganguly to keep it about Dhoni and not to derail it.
ZodiaC Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 ThatI know but Zodiac said he actually went there and became a truck driver :giggle: Gettin old :(( And agree @ Proff, on topic pleaj :nervous:

Read this interview of his with Shekhar Gupta: http://www.indianexpress.com/news/chappell-was-a-disaster.-he-was-after-sachin.-he-wanted-sachin-to-retire/681255/0 Bhajji played each and every match of the 2000-01 domestic season!! Was included in the North Zone Duleep Trophy team as well and was the best spinner in the domestic circuit!! In fact should have got picked for the team earlier when Sarandeep singh and Sunil Joshi were picked ahead of Bhajji for the tests vs BD and Zimbabwe. Only after those two failed and Kumble got injured, did Bhajji get a chance despite being best domestic spinner. Dada did back Bhajji but to say Dada gave us Bhajji is discrediting the player himself. In that Aus series, the likes of Sanghvi, Bahutule and even Raju were picked as spinners. But no one talks about them :--D

saneindian Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Take your blinkers off and if you have time' date= read the interview and get information from the Horse's mouth..:two_thumbs_up: Look who's preaching!! Someone who is ready to pick an abuse for an Indian player the moment his performance goes down!! Anyways on topic, Dhoni could have been a little more aggressive in this series especially yesterday especially once Boucher was out with the score on 233/7. Perhaps we threw in the towel a little too early.
yoda Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Fast bowler to groom,is it that easy, even to be grooomed you need to have some talent ,which is very less in Indian seamers or Domestic seamers,For me Dhoni unneccesarily backs his pathetic seamers as he did even today at the presentation ceremony True That :(( What is wrong in backing your players in public? They did bundle SAF for 130 in an innings and helped us square the series.

vaibhav_delhi Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Yes. But the point I guess even you will agree on is that these are two teams that are kinda weak as compared to the Australian' date=' Pom & Saf XIs. When Zak won't be around in the next 4-5yrs, its gonna be a tough task, for Dhoni does not seem to be grooming any pacer per se.[/quote'] But the pacers got to have SOME potential in order to be groomed. Currently, we have an erratic sresanth n ishant as the best of the younge lot. you suggest something??
vishnukumar Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Captain is good as the team.. simple as that :)
Sid Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 What is wrong in backing your players in public? They did bundle SAF for 130 in an innings and helped us square the series. Now you are talking about the test where they performed,I am talking about various other instances and there have been many ,where our seamers have bowled rubbish but still Dhoni praises them and always defends them ,keeping his eyes shut on their performances But ya on the flipside what more can he do than backing his seamers, afterall there is a very limited bunch of those in India :((
ZodiaC Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 :(( BTW missed your over optimistic thoughts in match thread :--D Was a bit busy, otherwise would have joined you baiz for spamming :((

putrevus Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 and the sad part is he will be the center of attraction amoung our public for the next couple of months because "He led us to a draw against the mighty saffers on their turf" ' date=' conveniently forgetting that we were in a position to whip them bad ![/quote'] This test and series showed why SA will never be world beaters honestly they had better bowlers and better batsmen and better fielders, they can talk all they want how they look to win the fact is they always play safe and that will never work in long run, they could have declared last night and had crack at Indians for 5 to ten overs then go fresh today. On same token Indians if they want to become a dominant team our batsmen have to do lot better than they have done here, with all that the series was ready to be had and we let it slip away. if 250 was the target we would have reached it today.
achilles Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 But the pacers got to have SOME potential in order to be groomed. Currently, we have an erratic sresanth n ishant as the best of the younge lot. you suggest something?? Jaidev Unadkat... he's our boy for the future. Irfan Pathan... he's young enough to make another comeback. Ishant Sharma... he has age, height and a good support team on his side. Sreesanth... needs to try to simply pick up 5 wicket hauls every game for atleast a series, without murmuring a word.
spectre Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 lol, Dhoni is being bashed by ganguly fanboize not able to digest the other comparison thread. They got a small window today and they hound like wolves What he did with Sreesanth incident is right..You don't put up with his nonsense for so long. He has crossed the limit endless times now, and a crybaby when reprimanded. Agree with the opinion that Dhoni sometimes makes some crap moves and sometime brilliant moves. He is no superhuman nor without any flaws. But every captain does that, not anyone gets everything right. Ganguly had both positives and negatives in his captaincy. Same with Dhoni, same with any other captain. End of the day, your achievements speak for you. Dhoni has that on the right track. andcoming to the CSK connection, if there are any fans who have to be peeved with his captaincy, then it has to be be CSK fans really. Go and visit the IPL forums - IPL2 and 3 where he made some of the dumbest decisions ever ( hint: Sir Jogi )
