I am completely addcited to indian coffee(mainly filter coffee with chicory).I know that robusta beans (grown in India) have 2 or 3 times the caffeine content of Arabica beans(used widely around the world and supposedly a better quality).I cannot function in the morning till i start up my percolator. The coffee most americans drink is ok but just doesnt do anything for me in the morning.have other southies adjusted to drinking plain coffee in america?

American coffee is an acquired taste or a compromised one. Filter coffee with chicory is still the best. What I do is pour the first few cups of the coffee coming out of the coffee maker back into the coffee m/c where we put the powder, the result is very strong decoction, and with pre-heated milk (on the stove) it tastes close to filter coffee.

Espresso drinker here. Used to gulp down tonnes of black coffee, but now I down 2 espressos a day (morning and after lunch). If still feeling drowsy, I sip on green tea in between. Starbucks/local hippie coffee shop lattes/mochas are only for funzz and stuffs.

I drink coffee made through espresso machines, mainly flat whites or long blacks. I generally drink a local blend (ONA coffee), which was introduced to me by the guy I worked with at a cafe. My mate roasts the stuff and it's very nice. The nicest blend is the Molawi mocha blend, a four bean blend with nice chocolate tones.
